well, I love destructable terrain. Its pretty much a given these days. But at the same time i dont think animals would be plausible. I mean the deer looks up as it somehow didnt notice the 18 meter mech STOMPING along,,,

me thinks there wouldnt be much local widlife around

no animals. . . and at this point there isn't infantry, or anything really besides mechs, so people being around to get squished is fairly unlikely as well

being able to mow down trees, and destroy buildings was one of the things that made me love mechwarrior. . .i had an impact on the environment

As others have stated no people around to smash birds deer what ever would be runing away from you long before you got to them. soo yeah lets stay with the trees buildings and stuff.

It looks like there will be destructible scenery, remember in the reveal video the Jenner jumping onto a building which gets blown up by SRM's? Hopefully that kind of malicious property damage will be possible in the finished game. I also want to be able to walk through scenery and smash it while shooting seagulls down like in the older games. I suppose throwing cars at the enemy is too much to ask though.

To even ask these questions should have you shunned....

But since you're from Houston, I'll let it slide.

Building and trees, yes
animals and wildlife, I don't think they'd be seen very well when in the cockpit of a Mech. let this slide, but birds, maybe.....
civilians, heck no, War is War & collateral damage does, sadly enough, occur, but soldiers shouldn't make war on civilians, it's not honorable

Along with the rules for Battletech the table top game I hope there is destroyable buildings, and also along with the Battletech rules these building may have hidden basements that mechs could damage themselves by falling into them.

But for Infantry or civilians and animals to crush or shoot, well when war-fair comes to town all the civilians and animals go and hide out of sight, and the Infantry shoot back. If you really want the infantry included in the game mechanics you should also expect artillery, tanks and Vtol's to shoot back so ask yourself how would you like your company, lance or mech to die to in game mechanics and not the other team?

I can only see destructible as really game-worthy and useful in an urban environment, unless trees are providing actual cover.

I have to say that the thought of a modern Mechwarrior game without a modern graphics engine and realistic destructible terrain doesn't sound like much fun at all. The whole point of a battlemech is to be able to wade through buildings and everything else around you.

B.A.S.E. objects. <Building Antenna Span Earth> If its on the map, it should have some frangible nature to it. I would love to see animals on the map. I wouldnt go out of my way to shoot them or stomp em, but, if they cross my path of fire AS I fire, well, silly animal, hope that death was instant. People? same thing as animals. Get in my way, its Darwin sayin hello XD

All for destructible objects.
But they are quite hard to make so we may not see them at start.
