There is a stark difference between 'serviceable' and 'easy mode'. Unless your definition of easy mode is extremely broad, in which case you would have little room to complain about the performance of any mech, save those like the Myst Lynx.

Also Zeus > Awesome.
And any IS Medium > Vindicator, regardless of how you play it. (Excepting maybe some versions of the Trebuchets)

Have not played Zeus, and a PPC vindicator with 40% velocity quirks is not a mech to joke about. That is easy mode with JJs and a good hill...because you can actually get a vindicator to Jump.

Serviceable action. But not easy mode gameplay. Its far easier to get better results using other mechs in that weight class. I do the same thing (actually better since the Panther is smaller and has better ups) in a Panther10k for less weight, with ERPPC.

Not saying the Vindicator is unplayable, but easy mode? That requires a completely different definition of easy mode than what most players probably have.

...because wasting 5-6 tons on not having endo steel and equipping too many jumpjets is not something a 70 tonner with a massive engine can do while still being effective in this game.

Which is why the real problem is not the summoner itself, so much as the comparative weakness of JJs and Standard Structure.

If those options were actually worth taking there wouldn't be an issue.

It would still have horrible hardpoint locations. It wouldnt be as bad if it was the size of the CTF. The CTF shits on the Summoner.

Bringing Clan lasers into a place where they are BALANCED with IS lasers Heat wise would be a great start to making some of these less desirable mechs more so.

I dont think PGI wants ANY clan mechs to be playable. I have pretty much given up on 1/3rd of my stable of mechs.... Either CW or Pub drops.

Its not fun playing as a steamed up little teapot...so I will just go IS until things get better and stay away from CW because my unit is Clan.

*sigh* the summoner fans just dont want to just say ya for a heavy in this game it sucks compared to anything else. Yes a skilled player can make it work but it's not worth my time not worth the cbills for such a sloppily designed mech by pgi.

This is why I decided to refund the wave 3 package. I'm not spending money on this game until they make the clans fun to play anymore. I've sold all but 2 of my is mechs and likely to sell them as well as it just a bug in my eye to see a bunch of clan mechs most of which I dont even use but have 2 light IS mechs that I rarely use.

After they nerfed the lasers for the clan mechs the game just hasn't been nearly as much fun.

If they do put this game on steam I'm pretty sure it's gonna kill the game a lot faster.

Zeus is a good one. The 6S®? I have it with 2 AC5s, 3 MPL, 190 AC5 shots and some more DHS. It has put up some nice scores. THe AC5s together give a CERPPC in dmg every 1.5s for what? 2 heat? THen when I need to, send in the MPL for an additional like 21 dmg. Yeah, it gives good dmg. MPL are short range, but still, this game gets close fast.

Im a Summoner fan, its my most played mech. But Im not ignoring its massive down falls, like everyone else is..... Its the mech I hop in just to have "fun". Its not a good mech by a long shot. When I want to win, I get into my TBR or CTF.
