How To Access All Variants Without Paying Money?

Pay-2-Win is paying money to get an advantage over other players, which is different than having additional options. Additional options are only P2W if they're upgrades rather than side grades.
Hero variants aren't (generally speaking) any better than non-hero variants.

Dragon Slayer? Misery?
Ember isn't that robot anymore.
PGI has done a pretty good job on keeping them in line. One isn't obnoxiously better than anything you can buy with Cbills.

I'd say that the Wang is the best centurion hands down...

Please do tell, there are only one or two perhaps but even that is subjective.

For now, like the clan mechs, and the King Crab, they will go c-bills in time, just wait. Right now, I'd call them "Pay to use early", and well I think that's fair, as people putting money into MWO, should get something out of it, so that we actually have a game to play.

In fact panther has been slowed down and made more like clan light than glitch twitch IS light of the past.

The sad thing is that for the spider, it's pay to be worse. Same for quite a few of the hero mechs. If you want a jumping light with 2B and 2E there are other options that are more effective (Firestarter H, Raven 4X).

If ya really are new then perhaps you're not qualified to make assessment on mechs behind the pay wall and what they offer ( in general ) above standard variants.
If you're not new then you're trolling because we all know there is little advantage other than stacking rewards from a hero with preem time at what is quite often the cost of a niche play style.

I think there should be less variants to the mechs., and make more loadouts available for free.
There's only 1 variant per chassis that's a "hero mech" (only available for MC). Every other variant in the game is available for free. (Or will be available for free)
The majority of mechs are either available for cbills, or will be available for cbills (every non-hero)
For example, there are 34 inner sphere light variants, of those 6 are heroes. Of those heroes only 2 are actually good, with 2 more as passable.

That is confusing some people, who thought "pay" referred to real money.

This is new!
loljk
Suck it up
Hero mechs are very hit or miss
If you really think mechs like Pretty Baby are p2w just because it's behind a paywall then you suck at this game

May I suggest using http://mwo.smurfy-net.de to plan your mech builds before buying them. You can also consult http://metamechs.com to see what variants are worthless (like the 5K).
Im not exactly getting the logic behind hardpoints making you need to buy a new engine for your spider.
Also, for every single mech you ever buy (this includes most of the "hero" mechs) you should expect to spend 5-10million fitting it out. Double heatsinks for 1.5 million, endosteel structure, new engine, new/additional weapons, possibly ferro armor.
If you want a mech that is low CBill cost, light mechs aren't the place to start, look for medium mechs that can get away with Standard engines.

he wants to just have everything without making any effort...
Perhaps then he should pay ( real money ) and not play.

* 3 (or more) standard variants (available for CB and MC)
* 1 Champion variant (available as trial 'mech and for MC)
* 1 Hero variant (only available for MC)
For new chassis, they usually become available for pre-order (cash) for a month or more, then for MC for a month, and finally for CB.
The thinking is that you'll try out the Champion variant when it's a trial 'mech, love it to bits and buy that Champion for MC, realize you need to progress up the Pilot Skill tree, so you buy two (or more) of the 3 standard variants so you can grind them, and then hopefully at some point decide you like the chassis enough to buy the Hero for MC.
Please note that while MWO is a F2P game, not everything in it is free. Devs gotta eat too, as the saying goes

the only things you need real money for is the heros, mech bays, premium time and vanity items (which you can totally do without). with the bonuses from cw ranking and events, its entirely possible to save up enough mc for most of that stuff (or win some of it). you probibly wont be able to unlock everything in the game, but at least you can play with some of that stuff. it helps to keep an eye out for sales.
ive been doing that for several months now. im sitting on like 1800mc that i did not pay for (though i did buy about $80 in mc before i got fed up by the lack of new content). probibly will buy another hero after a few more events and faction trees.
also if you think paying money will make this game any less grindy. then you thought wrong. you dont just buy the mech, you have to master the mech, which means you need to buy 3 of them. then equipment (and usually by mech 10 you have one of everything). then you need to grind for gxp to get modules, and cbills to buy them. after all that you might get somewhat competitive. if you want to do less of the outfitting, consider going clan mechs. you can mix and match their firing points with omnipods, and of course you dont have to buy all those expensive upgrades, they are fixed on the clans, the tradeoff is more expensive cost of course. just another day in the skinner box.

Thanks for the tip
Let's just say you're not the first to run afoul of the "new player experience", or lack thereof. People have been harping on PGI to make getting into the game easier, to put in tutorials and the like. At least you only bought a spider, some people spent their newbie cash on an Atlas, then learned that assaults are probably the class that most demands situational awareness (not newbie friendly) to not get stomped in.
Btw, lights aren't generally newbie friendly either, stick to mediums/heavies to start.
You'll also get more help if you start out asking advice, rather than talking about P2W.

So did I, so did I
But I got over it.
5k was actually my first mech also ( thought id made a huge mistake ) then I went into centurions mastered those, then went back to my 5k and became a light pilot.
Its taken me two years.
