But wouldn't having a Champion Champion be a bit silly? Sounds like a mech that would be piloted by Major Major Major Major...

Maybe a bit odd sounding. However, that isn't a good reason for leaving the mech out of the game.

The only real issue with making the Champion with ECM is it is on the low end of the Heavy class weight wise. At 60 tons it is almost a Medium. Add ECM and you lose some additional tonnage because of that item.

On the plus side though, it could be made to go fast (crack over 100kph with speed tweak) and be scaled a bit on the smaller side of the Heavy.

Ultimately the Chapion coyld be a Heavy mech version of a Cicada. Hmmm

Well, maybe having all torso guns and huge vestigial shield arms might help the Champ. Hitboxing might be difficult for it, however, which could easily make it invalid for IS XL engines (thus taxing its 60 ton weight even more). More reason why we need LFEs. :\

Hard to say Fup. I would have thought the Timber Wolf's hitboxes would have been an utter mess before it launched, but it is actually decent.

This mech wouldn't be a face tanker anyway so a bit larger CT would be tolerable (to help make it more XL friendly). Due to it's size, it would have more in common with the hit and fade abilities of a Medium (like a Centurion or an Enforcer). Speed would have to be it's friend.

Plus there is always structure quirks *shrug*

Maybe a slower heavier firepower Heavy is what PGI has in mind for an ECM Heavy, but I can see how a larger Cicada type Champion could work too.

The Mad Cat is heavier and gets Clan XL, though, which makes the comparison unfair.

Quirkening it is, then, as with everything else. :\

Also, I still want Luffie engines.

Which in itself would be a good reason NOT to include it in the game. Also, the mech is a non-entity in BattleTech. A retro-designed mech for the big bad at the time of the fall of the Star League, really intended for historical purposes/scenarios. Note the canon text on the manufacturing line having being completely retooled and no surviving mechs existing. It has no place in 3050 except as an IS Heavy ECM mech with JJ's and Dual Ballistic wet dream.

Well given that the most Iconic I.S. Mech ever has little place in the game currently. What is your point? You do have a point right?

P.S. And one of it variants has ECM too. LOL! ;)
