I am liking the townhall meeting so far

Russ confirmed

Battle of Tukayyid- NEXT EVENT! Cockpit items, players need to decide what faction they will fight for and stay there, special titles, top units to be named

Scout mission - to help pull pugs back into CW and to avoid 12 mans, their will be scout missions! (4 v 4 missions)

Lonewolf / Merc / Loyalist - more difference between them, mercs will no longer have a faction tag, lonewolves most freedom but fewest awards, loyalist most LP's loyalist contract system CAN HIRE MERCS AND LONEWOLVES NOW!....unit tags on planet will allow you to upgrade planet defense

New CW map

He's talking about spawn camping and says it's a major issue that they are working on fixing it, it seems that he wants to make the game less about pug stomping which is nice :)

He doesn't like Gen rushing either though even though its a tactic

So in other words us lonewolves better get to grinding the LP rewards. :o

It's only an IS tactic in which they don't even care that they are ignoring mechs just to destroy the gen. Very lame in my opinion.

And I haven't seen it happen in a long, long time. Maybe it's a Steiner thing, but we usually push heavies and assaults first.

So what are the true benefits and draw backs of being loyalist/mercs/ or lone wolfs

From what I heard, these are Russ' possible solutions:

Spawn Camping: dropships hover permanently over drop zones and focus fire on 1 enemy 'mech at a time.

Gen Rushing: doubling the gen hit points.

Yes - for the Tukavvid Event Russ was talking about specifically doubling (or at least increasing) the Generator hit points in order to stop light rushes. He also did talk about the problem that too much increase can possibly negatively effect game play when the attacker has stuck to "Normal" game tactics.

How this effects gameplay will help determine whether and how much it will be changed in the future.

There will also be 64 planet zones for Tukavvid as well which should easily be able to support 1500 players based on the last CW event turn up.

The Event will last for 3 days.

Also if you are going to cancel your current contract you will need to do so soon as there is going to be a 3 day lockout penalty for cancelling your contract.

Should be a good end before the Map is reset on the 21st - especially if various gifts/awards are being earned.

Cheers!

What’s the big deal about Tukayyid?

"players need to decide what faction they will fight for and stay there"
can someone explain the reasoning behind this

No Change of faction during the Event? It means you can get the rewards for one faction and not for all 10....There will bee Special rewards.

It was the single most important battle of the Clan invasion, which decided the fate of Terra..

Finally confronting the Clans to prevent them from reaching and taking over Terra, ComStar's Precentor issued a Batchall to the Ilkhan, to fight a.Clan Trial of Possession over on a proxy world. If the Clans won, Terra would be theirs. If Comstar won, a fifteen year truce would be won... enough time to bolster the Inner Sphere's defences and ensure the Clans would never succeed in their objective of taking Terra.

Twenty-five Galaxies from seven Clans faced off against twelve entire Armies of the Com Guards (equivalent to 144 regiments), each Clan being assigned two objective cities to take.

Well if they don´t like spawncamping they shouldn´t place the objectives -behind- the spawns, so you -automatically- spawncamp on your way to the objectives.

The only CW map were it was done right is Hellebore. And I think that was an accident.

Greetings all,

Addition to the Town Hall info release from Russ.

Within the next 1 or 2 patch's (Maybe 21April) we will see a new 'sensor' indicator on the HUD.

- NARC indicator to tell the 'Mech Pilot they have an active NARC attached.
~ is was not made clear if this will also indicate the 'presence' of any active Narc on other friendlies, but we have the visual indicator now, but you need to actually 'look' at the effected 'Mech to see it.
(this could be a 'global' sensor, telling you there is a NARC activated near if your not the one with it attached.)

Also we will be getting 10 new variants of 'Mech's:

GRF-2N (ERPPC/2 x SRM-6/ ECM) - 55Ton ECM 'Mech
HGN-732B (SLDF Royal unit)
LCT-3V
DWF-W (Wolf Dragoons Unit)
GAR-B
IFR-B
MLX-D
NVA-C
SCR-B
TBR-A

Should be interesting to see these 'Mech's as some field a Gauss as there main weapon, in this list.

Aim True and Run Cool,
9erRed

It sounded like Russ was sick and tired of mercs jumping from Faction to Faction every week. If you break a contract, you will now have to wait 72 hours before you can sign on to a new one.

So.... I won't be able to play CW for 72 hours...?

COOL!

The most important point is:

If you want to play the Event and get whatever rewards are going to be given out you need to be aware of the 3 day penalty in order not to miss out some or all of the event.

I really am hoping that PGI makes this very clear when they announce the Event and the Contract breaking changes so we don't get a bunch of players complaining on the forums or putting in request tickets with Support.

Cheers!

Am I wrong that the patch will hit us on 21st of april, the event will be from 24.04-27.04 and then the map will be reset?

The bad is: the "MWO" Battle of Tukayyid starts 1 week before 1stMay

Really no problem to run it in November or even March - but really 1 week before 1st May  - thats is not even funny - its a typical PGI moment
