I suppose you can repair mechs that become damaged but what if it's blown to pieces / you had to eject ?
Complete loss of invested money ? Insurances like in EVE ?
What if all your money is lost and your last mech is gone, you get a free light one ?
Would be interesting to know.

It's still not 100% sure.

I'm really hoping for a Solaris 1v1 Deathmatch game mode or something, where mech death is permanent, or perhaps the winner walks off with both mechs. In either case, a high risk high reward game mode

They have also said that no accounts can ever be made "Bankrupt" by not having enough money to field a mech. Your mech can always be repaired to a minimally functional state for free. How the Devs define minimally functional has yet to be seen.

Or...
Both sides have a tonnage limit as a balancing feature, and there is re-inforcement pool that you can pull from after mech destruction.

"HI! we got your 'Mech working and it's ready for the next battle, it's almost fully functional! by almost I mean it's still missing an arm and there's only one of the MG's working currently"

Mechs explode on (IIRC) three very specific eventualities:
critical engine damage
and catastrophic overheat.
and lastly "self destruct" (if memory serves, you can't eject AND demo)

Hmmm.. I could see them letting damaged or partially damaged Mechs into game, But this could also be a problem for team Balance
my guess would be, that light mechs will be very cheap to repair
im wondering how many C-bills we get up front at the very start of the game? and would there be enough to cover some of the founder Mechs like the Atlas getting slaughtered first match lol
Might end up with 2-3 Mechs totally screwed for a while lol

They'll have to add it eventually. The player demand will, pretty much, force them too and it is part of the Holy Canon.
