We had a foundation of one pot together and were told by Russ to stop and wait until a town hall - which ignored the topic.

I have a question for you. Remember that game we opposed each other on caustic valley, where I carried in my AC/10 4xML Gray Death shadowhawk? (5 kills, 700+ damage)?
That's without any superman quirks....
Imagine if I had your Grid Iron's quirks, but for that AC/10, so I could fire it twice as fast - like an AC/5 - with improved velocity and range.
Now imagine again if I had ECM, allowing me to poptart that AC/10 with relative impunity all match long.
Imagine, even, if I had had both.
Or more realistically, let's say what if your team had no/one ECM, and my team had 4+ ECM mechs and remained undetected all match long.
That wouldn't have even been a contest.
I honestly wish I had brought my Gauss build instead of the AC/10, to show what I mean about the quirks being OP and breaking the game...right now, if I can take that AC/10 4xML Shadowhawk build - unquirked and nonmeta weapons, like fighting with my hands tied behind my back - and pull that off, what would happen if my hands were untied by giving me superman quirks and meta weapons and whatnot?
It'd be cheesy, one-sided, boring, and frustrating for anyone on the receiving end.
That's what superman quirks and ECM, amongst other things, do to the game right now. They aren't remotely balanced with anything in the game except themselves - if you don't have quirks and/or ECM, you're automatically at a disadvantage in any mech/build. That's just not fun or the right way for things to be.
A few things:
1) I didn't actually see you play until right at the end, so I don't actually know how you were doing.
2) That's actually only the second time I've run my GI since the quirks were released, so I'm still figuring it out.
3) What Mech can poptart, with ECM, and AC/10 quirks that let you fire as fast as an AC/5? I'm unaware of any such in the game at this moment.
4) ECM really doesn't matter if my team keeps running away every time it is pushed. ECM is only as good as the pilot who employs it.
5) Out of my 77 Mechs, most of them run non-meta builds and do quite well, so I'm not really impressed with your chest thumping. I find the quirks interesting though not necessarily appealing in all cases. Still, they do something to differentiate between variants. I actually have a reason to run the AC/10 on my HBK-4H instead of an AC/20 now. My 4G is a lot more competitive and isn't getting insta-eviscerated whenever I try to rock out and fire. I can't say that the quirks have been perfect, but I also can't say that they've been bad for the game. Give them time.
6) You do realize that this is a thread about the ECM Council, right? As such, a quirk discussion could be construed as attempted derailment.
7) If you're not having fun, then quit and take a break. I do that on occasion (the last time it was during the LRMAggedon mishap when PGI foolishly gave LRMs quantum slipspace drives). It helps you calm down and then have more fun when you return. It also saves the rest of us who actually are enjoying ourselves a bit of a headache because we don't have to hear any griefing.

I don't really care though. The LRM heads will just have to learn to play something else.
LRM Heads?? I think you mean certain Mechs and mech variants are simply becoming more useless than ever before......Meta such fun!

That definitely explains why things like ECM remain so broken.
I mean no disrespect I'm just blunt by nature.
Is ecm actually broken or do you not like the way it functions? Or is it that its not true to TT or lore.
I have no problem with it like it is and yes I do have an ecm mech, just 1 and 11 out of 13 mechs in my lab carry lrms.
These forums are fully of its broken its broken and usually its not.

yeah that's what I remember happening, or...not happening, rather. One night we were going to vote, then we were going to wait, then...wait, what year is it?
