stop blaming those who aren't playing CW as some sort of "me!me!me!" social misfits, and start realizing the design of the mode was a mistake.

Or one that just isn't for you.

piss poor design breeds piss poor play. Who do YOU think should be blamed? Im guessing anyone but poor Brittney... er I mean PGI
Who do you blame when you get 12-0 in PUG games? PGI or the Team? Last I heard Camping happens on both ends. How is that possible when only one end has a Generator that needs to be destroyed? Piss poor Defense is what.

Hey, if you keep that line of reasoning, someone might also call you "special".

Or a "2%'r". That would be the percentage of players who actually take some responsibility for their level of play, and not just Hate on PGI for everything, all the time.

however I do agree that bribing people to play an event is pretty extreme and just places a beacon on how badly its failed
So PGI's promoting CW is a Bribe? Wow. That glass of yours in quite empty. Is it a bribe when they promote PUG Weekend play too? With Prizes no less?
Just for curiosity. If PGI did not offer any Prizes for the event, would that change the Bribe angle your taking or just change how you would hate on them?

Well just 2 things. You opinion on what CW is, or is not, is just one among many. The other is, CW is not complete. So if you wish to Hate on, or not Partake, fine. But do everyone a favor and pick one. Doing both makes you look bitter over a Video Game. Life is to short for such pettiness.

I don't hate on PGI, and I completely take responsibility for my skill level, and I don't hate my team for when I do poorly.
The design of CW, in that it caters to large groups at the expense of small groups and solo players was a very poor decision. Stop blaming players for poor design choices.

Bitter? Pettiness? Nope. Just giving my opinion on a fiant srompy robot game just like everyone else here is doing, in the hopes that PGI will fix their poor design decision beyond "maybe 4v4 in late summer...maybe..."

Everyone, even if they only have time for one 15 minute match, should feel like they're part of something bigger.
^^^ This!
CW should have a play mode for everybody. Thinking and designing it so its only for hard-core units is myopic. Making that mode for the tryhards and then needing the casuals to "fill in the spots" is wrong headed and bad for business.
Either CW is for tryhards only and they put up a wall to keep the casuals out, or they import all the game modes of the public queue into CW, make all players fight for a faction (even Lone Wolves in one-off engagements), and all games have some kind of meaning towards the Inner Sphere map.
That's kinda what Russ is talking about for 4v4 in the last Town Hall. He's looking at 4v4 scouting mode as a way for factions to open attack lanes for the Invasion game mode.
While that's nice, its too little right now. And they still need to lure suckers -- *cough* *cough* I meant 'PUGs' -- into Invasion for all the try hards that can't fill out a full 12-man, or the high population factions that can field several 12-man groups on a planet, but the defender is low pop and doesn't have that manpower.
Every time I hear someone from PGI and/or NGNG say "needing PUGs" I cringe, it shows a glaring problem with the game.
And that's because CW is an inch deep and an inch wide right now. If it had depth, then solos, small groups, large groups and comps would all have something to do in CW w/out trampling each other in the process.

In other words you are saying it's your fault, when you get spawncamped and prevented from playing the game, for trying to play the game.
There's really nothing left for me to say.

That's just a really narrow and pessimistic way of looking at things...with a proper roleplay & storyline element, with acceptable game balance and variety, this game would be able to fullfil alot more than a small-populace "niche".

Also I prefer to thing its pragmatic not pessimistic.
If it was pessimistic I would be complaining about it which I'm not.

I think most people would agree that it is at least partially the responsibility of the game's developers to minimize potentially toxic activity that the community will partake in given the option. Expecting the community to police themselves is impractical and unrealistic.
Your opinion is noted. However, since my opinion differs, I guess its up to the devs to decide.
I think most intelligent people would go into a match intending to play the game it is intended to be. Or are you saying going into a game of checkers and moving my checkers as though it were chess is the fault of the designers of checkers?

But, see, thats NOT what happens to all pugs in CW. Just the ones who cant be bothered to organize and work hard for the win, then come cry in the forums.
