I agree the new player experience needs a major overhaul before any Steam release. Russ was saying something about PvE "training missions" during the last Town Hall but I don't know if that'll be enough.
PvE is PvE and PvP is PvP, one hardly provides a real preparation for the other.
but there is a massive amount of people who do not even go to the testingground:
-sorting your weapon groups.
-how do I need to time my shooting to not overheat. Thast something the trainign groudn can provide you very quick with many easy attemps. I do that with every build.
-How has my shotrotation to be done with various wepaons.
-how long does it even take fro that laodout to kill standing mech dolls. if it faisl already here, better not even take it to a real battle.
And for newbies who hardly can handle walking, real battles are the least suited "training" they get. if they cna slowly train this vs some AI, that may be better, because it would have been indefinately harder for me to get ito MWO have I never played a MW game before.
New palyer experience will make you try to imagien the player has never ever in his live touched ANY GAME before. if you cna make this guy lern how MWO works, then its a good "new player experience" was it MW 2 or 3? one had quite a nice training mission explaining most from the absolute base.
