I'm sure its been stated before... BUT, use the LFG tool if you're not in a full group. With a larger group you will end up waiting between 3-5 minutes for a match on the IS side. I personally know I've waited longer for a match in the public queue.

But..but..it takes so much work to do!...Also PGI might as well inception the MM by making it when you hit play or join a CW attack defend call to arms. it just automatically throws you into a lfg queue party THEN dumps you into a match instead of just waiting for all the pugs. since people are either too lazy or potato to make a lfg or go to lfg.

now with 10-17 groups in queue i was able to get some matches (of course doing other stuff while waiting), but please add the "you are position #" everywhere so people do not leave, otherwise the event looks stabilized after the initial flood

@Apocalypticoreo :

1: "Ideally" and PGI don´t mix well
2: If you´re dropping solo in a queue that has been designed per definitionem for groups you ARE going to have a hard time
3: Yes, there will be 11 others with you on that server<- hence my analogy going alone to a war in hopes of finding 11 others to fight alongside .
Sometimes the other pugs know whats it all about, sometimes you´ve got 11 mewling kitties at your side, so welcome again to the lottery that is called "dropping as soloplayer(s) in the designated groupqueue" .

4:And MM ? What matchmaker are you talking ´bout ?
There is none in Cee-Dub (as there isn´t much of it in public queue either^^).

Finished the Challenge this afternoon, 50 drops, 45 wins and 5 defeat.

But The Battle of Tukayyid is still on.
And I will fight for that planet, for Clan Wolf top faction, and -MS- top unit.

I'm becoming a real supporter of the 1/1/1/1 for CW with tonnage restriction it will stop the meta TBR/SCR/SCR/SCR and the STK/STK/TDR/FS9 as examples.

the mechs need to be balanced, not some artificial rules like ghost heat or 1/1/1/1 or 1 gauss per deck or whatever, though the scr is a very good mech

Just my opinion here. I would like to see all players that did a drop, or maybe 5 drops, in CW get the hanging item. Not 5 wins. Just dropped 5 times and did particiapate. So if you were like some of us that were there, but just happened to fall short of the 80 goal you get something. I honestly spent more time waiting in the queue then actually playing. It is just not fun. There was an event in the past that rewarded a hanging item just for doing 25 matches. That seems like a fair trade to me for time spent.

It's not wins. It's 80 points. That's already too easy for even idiots to accomplish.

Alrighty.

Played both sides with this event.

Started as IS, saw the call for folks to switch at no penalty; chose to step out of my unit: Sons of Odin,FRR...and go to clans (for this event). Even though, I only had 2 mechs for clan; a timber and crow. Other two would be trials. <<shrugs>> If PGI asked for folks to switch, then it was a bad disparity.

Apparently, not enough folks were willing, or able, to switch sides to help balance things.

Minimum wait time as IS; 7 minutes, 30 seconds. Averaged around 10 minutes IF...in group or in a pug that no one left.

Once switched to clan side?

Out of 31 matches, only one went past 1 minute wait.

And that is as a pug, with all of them, on the clan side; thus far.

Food for thought. Something PGI needs to keep in mind for the future.

You are probably one of the people who hang back and wait for locks from other people in a missle boat. I had couple matches today where too many people were hanging back not doing anything because of the rampant ECM'ing of the Clans.

Get a few brawlers and get in the fight. You'll make 80pts easy.

It's not rocket science.

It takes two to tango. It doesn't matter how many IS players there are on defense. Unless someone elects to drop on offense, they don't get to play.

Ergo, clans get instant drops. There's 285767252 IS groups who can't do anything unless the 20 clan groups show up, so they must sit on their hands for 30+ minutes. Very poorly designed event. I sure hope someone at PGI pointed this out before they went ahead with this thing.

For those IS players who drop in smaller teams and keep waiting more than 30 mins for matches, you really need to get into a 12-person team.
Either use the LFG option for CW (not super effective but if you're patient, somebody will invite you) or the best: look for group drops within Teamspeak servers of your respective houses.

Despite not being part of any pre-made unit, I hooked up with other players on the House Kurita TS and have been able to consistently get into matches within 15 minutes. Sure it's nothing like the 1-min wait for Clans but what's the point of complaining? You've chosen your side, stick with it. The most time I wasted was just waiting for a full 12-person team.

Please make use of all resources available before giving up.

Hmmm.. You solution is more feasible to IS Houses with bigger populations.
Just for you to take note.

Finally got my 50 tournament points this evening with ~40 hours left to go. From my conversations with other -MS- unit members, most of them have their 50 tournament points as well. Total grind, but not really challenging. I wish PGI would have a competition which required far fewer points overall, but made it much more difficult to get a point. An 80 score in a CW match is rediculously easy. My average match score was 204.3 and I didn't have a single match where I scored under 80. A challenge should reward skill and not simply how willing you are to get pressure sores on your behind. How about reward 2 tournament points for 160 score, 3x for 240, etc.??? We could also use some TRUE strech rewards for the extremely hardcore players. I know some people that could probably get 90 tournament points before the end.

Well, I am only at the 20th point mark. Guess the best I can go is 30 or less for this event. Best CW event so far.

50 games times 40 minutes per game, plus time spent on LFG - that's a whole work week. I'd rather do a bit of freelance work and buy whatever the prizes are, there's just too much time spent waiting or trying to gather a group.

I played for the banner and that's it. Maybe I'll try to make 10 (got 8 atm), but I doubt it...

I can't wait for the event to be over and PUGs getting back to normal...
