I Get That The Cauldron Born Is Expected To Be Our New Meta-Overlord, But Seriously No Excitement Over The Executioner?

Screenshots pop up, and Cauldron Born this, Cauldron Born that....yadda yadda yadda, blee blee blee blah blah blah, yackity smackity.

Executioner gets posted later in same announcement, and....... *crickets*

So is the Executioner not worthy of convo because it's not Shiny New Cauldron Born Preemptive MetaOverlord? Or is it just expected to be Bad and feel Bad?

I'm not wild about how the face translated, but otherwise looks long and lean, like it's gonna be tall, but not stuck with the usual Brickitis of too many mechs. And I still have reservations about its mobility based on HGN JJs and an obviously HUGE terrain profile (meaning without quirks, even with MASC it could find itself outrun by King Crabs up hills, just like the Gargoyle did, initially).......... And looking at the design, I do have some small concern about CT dmg magnet, but won't know for sure til I shoot one.

But I can't lie, my inner Ghost Bear is very sad that it couldn't be fit into my budget.

What are your thoughts, expectations, etc?

And now I return you to your regularly scheduled Cauldron Born drooling....... ;)

*shhh* I have very moderated feelings that it may just be good enough to replace the highlander as my favorite assault.

I've bought it only for trolling around with 13 energy hardpoints.

My inner Ghost Bear would drool much more if I could have the Kodiak

I'm actually excited for it, I know a few teammates are as well, but then again I have a fascination for goofy/bad mechs.

It is like Mr. Gargles but better, and I am definitely liking the look of it. The modelers did good on this one in capturing Alex's design which was a huge improvement over the MW4 and Classic versions of it.

It looks thin, and I like that. However I need to see how MASC works, how she jumps and how those hit boxes really work....

Well, looks wise it kinda looks like a Gargoyle mated with a Firestarter lol.

I'm passing on these mechs, so I personally am not that excited. I'm sure the Executioner will be good. It is a humanoid so chances are it will have solid hitboxes.

I will say this. My favorite mech designs are chicken walkers with aircraft fuselage style torsos. Because of that, I like the looks and feel of the Caldron Born more than the Executioner.

It looks HUUUUGE in those pictures. Would an Atlas even come up to its "armpit"?

1.)
Please don't write whole novels into a thread title.
It's unnecessary annoying, confusing and therefore unsocial behavior.

2.)
Let me once again post my usual paragraph:

Please stop using the term meta to express "overpowered". It means "after" / "beyond" / "above" in an ABSTRACT way (like meta study or meta gaming), NOT just "super" on some measuring scale.
From an objective point of view, everyone not getting the abstract nature of the term must be considered stupid.
I don't care if that includes 90% of the MWO community.
Speak for yourselves.

Yeah, pretty much most people are hyped up about the CBR/EBJ.

But, I for one, am more sexcited for the Sexecutioner.

Hovertarting Gauss & PPCs are always fun.

I can't wait for any of them! And not because they are expected to be meta. I think they look gorgeous and I can't wait till they are in my mechbays. All this hubub about the way it looks was fine until people started tweeting Russ asking for this small change or that... And we wonder why he doesn't come here anymore. We got the concept, we got the screenshots... It's pretty much etched in digital stone. People are already complaining about it's performance but none of us will know a damn thing until we strap in and play it.

1) I'll write whatever I like into my Threads, titles, answers, etc
2) If it bothers you, you don't have to click on them
3) I'm using the term "Meta" here in exactly the manner it is understood by the masses, knowing it's not the "textbook definition" and not caring. I'm here to speak to 90% of the MWO Forums, not you, perhaps?
4) Kindly don't come onto other peoples posts than complain about how they don't follow your ideal formatting and etiquette.
