Will probably end up as a cockpit item.

Apologies.

But it looks bad. Like the current UI you guys are willing to give out too much information. Too much clicks.

There is a difference between too much information and displaying essential information.

Looks like from a year 1999 computer game but is quite well-arranged.

If the new mechlab UI does not have "Save Configuration" function, my disappointment is going to be HUGE.
It is going to be bigger than all the forumers' mothers combined.

It is 2015, PGI. Are you gonna lose to Mechwarrior 2, which came out in 1997?

PGI can't save "Public Match" option and they were "developing" game mode save feature for half a year, I guess, and you want them to save your builds? Lol, "It's technically impossible", as many gamedevs love to say in this case.

We will see soon enough whether PGI is as incompetent as I expect them to be.

So I take it you still can only edit one component (arm, ST, CT, etc.) at a time. No info about modules being displayed on the mech portrait or anywhere else. No way to check out engine type/rating if you're swaping XL engines for example. Red on grey with the same color value? Bad choice.

I don't try to be negative, just trying to provide feedback if someone is ever going to read it. The removal of useless weapon/engine/module icons is great, for example, since you couldn't read them like in MW4.

Looks a lot better, though I'm sure it could still use more improvements; in particular I would ask about saved loadouts but I'm not expecting it to happen either.

Is this a good time to propose real time penalties to mechlab mods?

Like changing a laser will put your mech out of commission for 10 mins.
AC and LRMs 20 mins.
Heat sinks : 2 hours.
Swapping engines : 12 hours.
etc

If they did that, I'd quit the game. Why would you want to make the game more annoying for no benefit?

Have a campaign mode for time delays due to customization, R&R, but also keep seperate from current mode we have, no mc use in that mode either
/derailend
On topic, its looking more user friendly, allow player ui adjusting ala 2005+ mmos, trust me, you'll save a lot of hassle and "I dont like you put this block here I want it over there", add resize window options, and you're golden.

Still missing the functionality to locate "somewhere" installed equipment.
Seems I still have to go thru all my mechs looking for special module or engine .. :-(

Should have just kept the UI from back in closed beta and scaled it up. Add tabs for CW and all the other BS. Nice and simple. For cryin out loud give some drop bay skins. So tired of looking at a filthy IS dropship interior lol.

Glad you guys liked the preview! I know there has been a bunch of feedback, feature request etc.. just want to preface, this was a WIP showcase (but I will pass on all the feedback).

Dumping all mech loadouts to XML should be pretty easy and will allow community tools/sites to import your garage.
An XLM import would be magic, but wont hold my breath for that.

Hopefully the full mech is on one screen like Smurfeys.
Would like to see loadout, modules, camo, cockpit all on one main screen so no flicking between them. Expand into cockpit view etc.

Save thumbnail of mech colors and pose when loadout saved, use it as the mechs thumbnail instead of generic green mech image.

There will never be a "save configuration".
Because if you are too tired and bored to change manually a loadout, you MUST buy a new mech and weapons for c-bills.
And mechbay, for real money. Of course :)
