Yeah, so about battlemechs being able to deal anything.

And engines are supposed to be divisible by the chassis weight, so 100 toners should only be able to do 100, 200, 300, 400.

Meaning they all optimally run 300s.

Which also corresponds to movement points, hence why all Clams fall within those speed brackets. 53, 71, 89, 107, 124, 142, 160, 178

Unfortunately not an equivalent buff to the armour. Double armour should equate double ammo :(

Double Armour; Double Ammo!

Perhaps but thats a Different Topic altogether,
we are discussing a Buff to Only 4Omni-Mechs,
as of the Ferro to Endo, Endo to Ferro Swapping,
(Perhaps More Omni-Mechs as they are added)

I think the simplest and best way to make ferro useful is to increase the max armor cap for each body part.

For example, mech A normally has a center torso armor cap of 60. It is allocated as 50 to the front and 10 to the back. With ferro fibrous, the fourteen critical slots are filled as is the case now. But the max armor cap for that CT is now 70.

I just made up those numbers, but that way you could decide whether it's more useful to have the extra tonmage ferro provides, or whether to use that freed-up tonnage to add extra armor up to the new maximum for each body segment.

SCR & TBR will be Gaining +3%LaserDuration Per Laser, on Tuesdays Patch(5/19)
Perhaps this could Help these 4 Clan mechs take up the Slack of those two, :)

Why not instead fix the underlying problem of Ferro Fibrous armor being terrible?

Yep. I think this was suggested as far back as 2012. It's still the right thing to do, Clan mechs made it an even more attractive solution.

the problem is when suggesting a change to the TT use of Ferro(such as 10% DamageReduction)
some get Finicky and keep telling me there are other Armors that do already in LORE, its abit tedious,

but i feel even if Ferro where made Relevent this should still be a Choice,
as it doesnt actually go against OmniMech Construction Rules about Upgrading(changing locked points),
because no points would be changed, this Switch can be done within the OmniMech Construction Rules,

Ok, then institute battlemech construction rules.

for OmniMechs? and which Battlemech Construction Rules?
Please Elaborate? Thanks

Retro fitted engines must be divisible by mech tonnage
Sized hard points
No Endo conversions

You know battlemechs are not supposed to be more customizable than omnis, and you COULD change engines and whatnot, but you lost the ability to change pods.

Which doesn't matter in MWO since they force the the chassis rule anyway

Not letting the HBR upgrade to FF or endo is holding it back quite a bit. That and its size.

well MWO works as most MechWarrior Games do,
throwing out most of the BattleMechs Construction rules,
and working with Full Customization of the Mech,

but in this Case PGI wanted OmniMechs to "Feel" Different and so Chose to go by the Rules,
some OmniMech Rules i can understand, such as locked Engines, but Locked Flamer/CAP no,

Edit- this

Different Topic, this Topic is just about allowing OmniMechs with Ferro to Trade it out for Endo,
giving the MadDog/Summoner/Gargoyle/Warhawk +2-2.5Tons which would help with Ammo Builds,

Not enough,

Warhawk is still saddled with a PILE of hardlocked heatsinks, 7 to be exact
Summoner suffers from lack of hardpoints, to much engine AND 5 tons of hoverjets
There is literally nothing that will save Gargoyle with that 400 in there, nothing, particularly the prime arms, seriously even with 4 extra tons that is that is three tons for AC and three tons for SRM, WAY less than I would carry one that mech given a choice, particularly when the missiles eat ammo and the LB5X HAS A ROF BONUS!

perhaps but as it is PGI wont unlock DHS for Balance reasons right now,
which is why im working on the Ferro to Endo Switch, and more after,

@russ_bullock YourThoughts on beingAble toSwitch(Ferro for Endo)on Omnis?(it will only add 2tons toMDD/SMN/GAR/WHK)&it doesnt break rules?..

AndrewPappas@AndiNagasia 2h2 hours ago
@russ_bullock not pushing, just saying that its not Breaking the Rules more Bending them for Balance, i know that PGI will do whats best, :)

Russ Bullock@russ_bullock 1h1 hour ago
@AndiNagasia so you don't want both you want a trade from FF to endo

AndrewPappas@AndiNagasia 56m56 minutes ago
@russ_bullock correct, a less an Upgrade more a Choice like Artemus, Ferro or Endo(switching to Endo could give +2Tons to MDD/SMN/GAR/WHK)..

Russ Seemed Against the Idea of Just Unlocking Upgrades for OmniMechs,
However he did seem to like Allowing Ferro to be swapped with Endo as a choice,

in case of a Ferro to Endo swap, MDD/SMN/GAR/WHK all gain +2-3Tons,
but only those 4 OmniMechs with Only 1 Upgrade(Ferro) would gain this,

what isn't it optional to have the other one? I can understand if one is locked for lore/balance/Paul's fanciful whim or whatever - but why can't I on my Gargoyle which has a f-ton of unused slots no matter how I rig it simply equip endo? That extra 7 tons or whatever it comes out to is far more valuable than lost crit space.

I dont think swapping should be allowed. Endo/Ferro should stay locked on clan mechs.

But maybe mechs that only have ferro should get endo instead. That would be a slight buff.
