I'm quite certain Alex can blow this away on his worst day, with the flu, while fending off three of the Cardinal's guards with his off hand, but here we go:

More like THIS, please.

I prefer the Alex's take on it.
Never liked the dumb animal head on it. Sorry.

YMMV. The original Wolfhound was said to have a head slightly resembling Anubis; the current model (and some of the TRO art) completely abandons that. Some of the Wolfhound fans would like at least a little resemblance.

Heck, even some sensor 'ears' might help; just make it look less like a Panther.

I saw a comment on another thread 'at least add the ears'. IMHO, the ears don't do much without the 'muzzle', but that's just my opinion.

Well the art is just too similar to the Panther atm, needs some distinguishing features like Malleus added IMO.

Ok did not have much time so pardon the outright mess in clarity. But here is my take in case i would actually make a "anubis" one. Pesonally like it better... but that is a matter of taste.

Now if i had completley free hands (and some more time) i´d work the "ears" in to the back rig on the head and make it a lot leaner. But i did not feel like redrawing the entire back of the head right now.

Yep, saw that, just wanted to let others know because they seemed to have missed it and no one should miss Alex's posts.

Had actually missed it but by the sounds of it I was on the same track as Alex on this one. Even if mine is a bit exaggerated.

It is more bunny esq yes.. mostly because there is no good way to make a snout and still stay with a look that fits in to the MWO art style... Trust me.. before it tweaked the color it looked like a picachu... =P I felt bunny-esq was better.

I´l try to work up a better version tomorrow when i have time to sit down and actually redraw parts of the head and mouth area rather than just slice n dice in PS.

Seriously read the books - the wolfhound was supposed to have a dramatic head (and body shape) that intimidated opposition. The resemblance to a canine was strong, the ears were large and pointed and acted as advanced sensors, in fact by end of trilogy they were ECM capable - (I thought the Wolfhound would have ecm version - disappointed the proposed ones don't yet). It has a muzzle - Grinner 1 and 2 had teeth painted on it - they have to bring out hero of that surely. The head is unashamedly dog like, that is the whole point - it was in response to Kurita's highly successful Panther (cat duh); it was cat hunter. Our Panther is great mech this one has to be too. The Wolfhound was to be faster, all energy weapons so no ammo explosion and able to operate for long periods; running down panthers, getting inside their range and cutting them up with alpha strikes of beam weapons. When I have a chance I'll get the exact quotes to back up everything I've stated here.

Another attempt.

actually, with just some work on the ears, and some detail work, not that bad IMO
