Sooooo.... the same as every CW map ever? Pretty much the reason why I don't bother too much with CW because the builds are the same every match. 3+ Large Lasers, Dual Gauss, Dual AC5's or UAC5's. Gets very boring getting sniped across the map for 30 minutes especially if you're a brawler-type player since your weapons can't reach them before 6+ large lasers melt your CT in seconds. At least in regular queue at least every third mech will be carrying LRMs, Med Pulses, SRMs, Streaks and AC/10's and 20's.

I guess what I'm saying is I'm disappointed I'll rarely play these sweet looking maps because I prefer to brawl than snipe and you are punished for bringing brawl builds into CW. So I don't play it.

Grim Portico, Hellbore Springs, Sulfurous Rift, Emerald Taiga... hell even Boreal Vault all have brawling opportunities. All of them have means to approach the gates without being blown to bits if you don't just march into the enemy's guns (It can be a pain to knock down the gate gens on BV though).

I think you do sir....

Blue stars do in fact exist, O class stars which burn over 33,000 Kelvin

Blue stars do exist, but when close enough to see any star as a disk, it will appear white because the human eye can't dissimiliate, there is too much light to absorb and it's overpowered.

Red should appear a different color near a blue star also, so it's possible that red crystal is a different color "in reality"

Very impressive looking new CW map, hope it plays as goods as it looks. The overall atmosphere seems refreshing compared to other CW maps.

If only JJs functioned properly!!

Now I'm angry

Change JJs, forward arc leaping, hold space to move cursor further away from mech in rough implementation then add in 2 keys to allow people to adjust their preset arc done, skill required to plan leaps.

In reference to the "leap-frogging" the OP and Jody reference, I think your being to literal. They are not saying literally leap frogging from crater to crater. They are saying lance by lance, one moving up as the other cover with fire and vice versa.

I understand your frustration in how you think JJs should work, but it has no relevance here as no "leaping" is needed when leap frogging as a tactic.

*the missing star is a shader issue, hotfix incoming.

Running around the new map right now in my panther. Looks great, I'm happy to see how open it is and the opportunities seem endless.

Good job, looking forward to dropping on it AND happy mostly all of my drop deck has JJ.

^ What he said.
I was trying to say something like this, but it was past my bedtime and I was grumpy (-er than usual).
I'm pretty sure astronomers know the color of a star by measuring wavelength.

Another nifty fact: Astronomers and biologists and such predict that a habitable planet with a blue sun would have vegetation in some color besides green.
In our yellow sunlight we have green plants, and green absorbs the light reasonably well.
In blue sunlight, green plants would reflect more light and absorb less. There is a theory that a planet with a blue sun might have plants with a purple, red, or orange version of chlorophyll.

I was wondering about that, myself.
I was wondering if PGI saw my comments and said "No star for you!"

This will be a rough draw for IS on the attack. There's even less cover than Boreal, from the looks of it. Expect to be Light-rushed, because that's the only way the IS will be able to make it to the gate intact.

Looks beautiful at first sight, but according to my calculations mech gets shotdown and reactor destroy in seconds, and the pilot will immediately blinded without very powerful filters because the estimated radiation power above the observed at the earth in 2000 times. For example this one http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Kepler-10b has about 3500 times sun-earth radiation, ensures that the temperature of the "day" will be about 1,500 kelvins. So i refuse to play on this map for ideological reasons ...
