I kind of like both though regardless of the Enforcer-like head.

As a side note, the spikes on the Resistance version is an interesting design choice. Channeling it's inner Mad Max...maybe Borderlands?

Regardless, good looking mech in the concept art.

My Enforcer would kill to have a head like that.

Then again, the Enforcer's head looked better in concept art too. You may want to see the Resistance Black Knight's head in real game rendering before you wish for it.

If the real deal does come out similar to the concept art though, I'm with you.

I heartily dislike to 40K spikes. I like the Knight head variants, though.

At least it isn't more luggage racks.

Haha, I agree 100%. Even as a long time Warhammer 40,000 fan, I have no time for "spiky bitz" on battlemechs. I never even liked that comical cartoon villain side of the ork aesthetic.

But that custom geometry head is infinitely better than the standard luggage racks :)

Well at least we don't have Waaagh banners on archaic skull angels with laserpointers. (Oh wait. Maybe that will be the special Resistance UAV?)

Please!!! Lose the "Mad Max" look..... Every knight knew the only thing spikes on armor would accomplish would be to catch lance points, axe bites and long swords blades. The same would happen with AC shells and gauss bolts. Yes there is a purpose to gracefully sloping and shaped armor, to deflect oncoming weapon energy from its intended target. Make it more actually "knight" like. Plenty of historic pictures to research.

Additionally, Maybe PGI should move those torso energy slots higher as any basically competent weapon system designer would do. There is no reason to mount them so low when recoil and weight is not an issue.

Don't think they will raise the energy hard points to Jager levels just because people ask. It was my understanding that the Black Knight often had a shield and melee weapon in the Comstar era; only to slowly dissolve and eventually lose its ECM over time because of the Technology loss over the Succession Wars.

If this is true, the Black Knight isn't a Sniper or a Fire support, it's an Energy Endurance brawler. Hence the all pure energy load out. It was designed for those Front mission battles that took days, and weeks without extensive repairs. Don't think people will ever really see a ballistic or Missile version sorry people.

Honestly, I'm ok with this Not every mech, will or can fulfill other roles.
Your Catapult wasn't meant to be a brawler
Black Knight wasn't meant to be a sniper,

I like both but I'm so scared that actual in game model will come out fat or look nothing like the art. So much so that I'm dragging my feet on buying. I was never going to buy the Black Knight till i saw the unique Geo, so in short i really like it just don't trust they can pull it off.

To be fair, I don't believe it will look like this at all, considering my phoenix variant doesn't look like the promo stuff at all.

That's the fear. On the plus side though, PGI said they moved back the Black Knight's release to give the artists more time with it. That sounds like they are making an effort to match the artwork.

Yea, I am also kinda bummed about the hard point mounting. Well, there is always that new Tallman "Top Dog" Thunderbolt. Just name it Black Knight :/
