After taking a little break from MWO, I'm ready to come back. When I press the MWO launcher button, nothing happens. It seems to load for a couple seconds - nothing shows up on the screen, and then nothing happens. I cannot find the link to the repair tool. Any suggestions? Or should I just reinstall?

I'm still getting the issue, but the work around provided by Ace is simple.

So I just created a folder permanently in my documents, with the instructions and folder location - so i just copy paste into that location whenever the issue arises (every couple of days).

In the Mechwarior Online\Bin32 directory is a "MWORepairTool.Exe", run that as administrator.

I'll just note that this didn't work for me.

Meaning, it fixed the issue but then the issue re-appeared.


Rather than spend the time running the repair tool, the fix I posted about takes about 30s.

Can't sign into the game despite recent fresh install.

Workaround: used to be able to reboot my pc and the game would launch, but now it's like I can't play at all.

PGI--please fix the launcher to client crash issue. I'm hearing more and more players daily who are having this issue.

You're still luckier than me. After installing the launcher downloaded from the official link it just crashes when i double click on the shortcut. I have to go through steam to download the game.

New April 29th nvidia drivers borked it for me, fixed it by rolling back drivers.

1. Try Steam to play MWO; painless patches, and no launcher problems!

2. Just updated to April 29th Nvidia GPU driver for our ThinkPad, and it was OK !

Unlikely your Thinkpad is running the same GPU as my PC.
