Could we have something like the following picture, so the loadout explicitly points to a certain area of the mech?

Can I ask why it still says "FIREPOWER -- X/250" and "HEAT MGMT -- X/2"?

I would also like to know if the 'new' UI actually shows how many heatsinks an engine has yet? Judging by the picture it still doesn't, as seen on the panthers engine, a 225, that will have 9.
A glaring oversight in the current UI, which currently, for some unknown reason tells you how many internal slots an engine has even if it has zero - out of 6, because 6 is the max (in a 400). Strange to say the least.

I have to say that I prefer the U.I.1.0 version of the mech selection layout (where you choose your mechs to drop/change loadouts).

I really like the engine selection implementation so we don't have to search for them, just +/- the rating.

Selection for mounted weapons it's AWESOME!!

We can't port the MC, Cbills, or GXP to the real account?

What real incentive is their for doing this testing and downloading a separate client.....etc?
Some Free MCs would be a nice incentive, Heck 10 free mech bays would be a great incentive for those who test.

are you for real?

I kind of like the current mech selection page, where you can see all the mech's icons at once. Could we have a toggle for that?

The only thing I don't like about the current mechlab is that it doesn't tell you where your modules are located or which mech they are on.

If the mechlab had a TAB for MODULES, which told which mech had them it would be great.

Better yet, when the cursor is over the mech, it should list the modules installed in the mechs under the QUIRKS section, labeled MODULES and font COLOR should be YELLOW.
This would save a lot of time.

Another thing to add to the mechlab is custom badges and titles.
It would be awesome if each mech in the mech lab be assigned a badge.
For example, "Little Helper" badge/title be assigned to the Locust for example. The Atlas have "Giant Helper", Currently only one Badge/Title is blanketed over all the mechs.

I'm ambivalent about incentives to test, but I am very much behind the ability to see where my stuff is easily. The chief complaint my drop mate and I have is the inability to see where any modules are, or engines, or anything. I've resorted to keeping a sheet of paper handy listing what engines I move around and where they are, but with a stable of well over 100 mechs, it can be cumbersome, especially if I forget to write something down. I usually keep four or five mechs fully kitted out with modules and cockpit items, but if I take a break of more than a few days I can't remember where they are. I try to strip my active mechs of all those items when I log out of a session, but that's a pain too and I often forget. So then I have to go through the arduous process of clicking each mech, then the button that gives me the Smurfy style view, and then equipment. It's time consuming and a burden. With modules being as expensive as they are, I simply can't afford to just buy a new one if I can't readily find the ones I have, although that might be the point, I suppose. Having a simple search feature, something that lists locations, or even an element that lists what are in my mechs when I hover over them, would be a god send.

TL;DR: Please implement some system that allows us to see where our modules and engines are, easily.

This overhaul is worthless unless I can track my modules and cockpit items in an easy manner.

Saving Loadout Profiles
Merging some of the new information windows
Making all the pop up menus movable, re sizable, and with close buttons/ drop-down arrows (not check boxes PGI.. wth?).
add more button highlights
more breathing room to the "Select mech" windows and all windows similar to
Free look camera
get rid of the bottom bar / merge drop-down arrows for mech information, currencies and premium time clock.
Add a 'checkout button' that replaces "save" button when buying new equipment.
Keep the save button when changing load outs with owned gear
.. and much more. I got a document somewhere with quite the list.

There are so many things I would love to see done that would work with this new mechlab... I got alot of them already in the PTS forum... I am shaking my head at the UI designer a little bit. Great ideas but executed with such haste. I miss how interactive the first UI was in the Mech lab...

Can we get the mech's quirks listed in the mechlab. The only way I could see a mechs quirks was buy going to the store. Could not see them in mech select or the mechlab. Needs to be fixed. Since the Quirks are important.

Actually I did see them listed in mechlab. When you're customizing a mech, down in the bottom right corner will be the Mech Stats window. Click on the empty box and it will pop up with the quirks listed in that window.

Would be great if it would be possible to save loadouts.
I personally try around with loadouts and saving the "working" one would be awesome

Personally, I think this would be an fantastic option to have and would add to the enjoyment of the game immensely simply by reducing the time it takes to switch loadouts. Would LOVE to see this happen!

This is a great improvement, so I just have some small details to report:
  • Select Mech: Esc should work as "Cancel"
  • Select Mech: IS/Clan/Owned/Trial selection gets reset after Testing Grounds
  • Many UI items (e.g. Modules slots and buttons in the warehouse) have the popup "Chat only to those in your unit"
  • Upgrades should be sorted DHS-ES-FF, not FF-DHS-ES (ES in the middle)
  • Can not move items from one body location to a different when 0 slots are available.
  • Dragging an item any place of a body location does not work, you have to drop on an available slot
And with all the extra CBills in the PTS I could confirm a long-standing and trivial to fix bug that was already reported in some threads:

The CPLT-A1(C) has one less Mech Module slot than regular CPLT-A1!
(What makes this even worse for me is that I sold the regular mech and bought the champion to save some cbills for the upgrades)

Edit: Created separate threads for the not yet reported problems in the PTS subforum and twittered @russ_bullock about the CPLT-A1(C).

Overall, everything looks and feels better (scaling issues aside), except for 1 specific thing. The mech selection. Even the U.I. 2.0 mech selection is better than what is in the new U.I. But that feedback is purely based on looks. The filters added to the mech selection are excellent.

Definitely like the improvements I saw. Though still no way to see which mechs have which module or engines at a glance. Also I feel like the filters work backwards. They are all highlighted by default but you click them off one at at time. Would rather if they were just normal selection tabs (meaning not behaving like filters and more like switching tabs in an internet browser).

Also.. saving different loadouts would be awesome.
