I have a dream, I pop out of my hiding, instead of shooting that mech I shoot the skyscraper it is standing next to and the big building falls on my opponent causing great damage. I suppose I'll take a wobbly lamppost instead.

Don't get your hopes up for your 'mech cutting deep swathes through dense forests. At best, you'll get a lamppost or a few railings that drop when you run into them.

You should make the buildings on River city destructible ... or somewhat

I just want varying time of day.
It's such a simple - yet effective - way to make the maps have more depth.
Oh, today is Tourmaline at Night, and tomorrow is Crimson Straights at Dawn.
It's not "quite" getting a whole pile of new maps, but it certainly has an effect and will add a bit more depth to the game.

I don't really see shooting at buildings as being a viable tactic...unless it's a group effort. Buildings(especially the large ones that dominate our landscapes in game) are remarkably resilient to the types of ordnance used on a mech...well maybe except for the AC20. But even an AC20 would need to put in some work...probably not worth the ammo.
Hands down, the biggest threat mechs would bring to a building is themselves. Running into, dry-humping the sides for cover, JJing onto them...that's the big threat to buildings. As much as I'd like to see that, it would essentially leave large swathes of urban areas laid flat. The first third to first half of a match would just be crumbling buildings, with the occasional casino demolition for the last half. It would be such a distraction.

So how about making trees flammable and overheat mechs in burning forest? At least then flamers might be useful for something.

Swathes will be cut.... So some day there may be a way through that tangled mess which is Viridian Bog ? and there would be much rejoicing.
