Can't think of anything else, though.

What changed on either of those?

Exactly. For the most part, you can't even see that they changed anything.

Except for the Missile-Hunchbacks having slightly different look to them now, but they look ok.

Catapult, Awesome, Quickdraw. They all suffer from scaling issues. The Cat's VCR boxes need to go. The Awesome needs to be a bit smaller and frankly the CT could be slimmer. The Quickdraw looks like it's had one too many hamburgers and that stance is...yeah...someone pooped their pants. After that I'd fix the Direwolf. It's just a disgusting disgrace to the concept art work. The CT is massively bloated in comparison. It looks cartoonish.

Really I'd like to see an art pass on all the IS mechs from Phoenix and back to bring them into visual parity with the mechs in the Resistance packs who (imo) look much nicer than some of the earlier mechs and some of the ones who have received art passes that have resulted in less than desirable looks. Like the poor Catapult.

Er... Try sticking two ballistic in the hunch of a 4G. That's... awkward. Now try three.

Anyone who dares to use something other than an AC20 in the hunch deserves it.

No. Not even funny.

Variable geometry is a good idea, but PGI's design and implementation of it is utter and total shite. It needs to either be removed or redone.

They should absolutely NOT wait to give the remaining 'mechs the variable geometry treatment before fixing those they've already destroyed with it.

Color me surprised if they'll even bother coming back to the already-butchered mechs, after they finish butchering the remaining ones.
They'll probably just call it done and make another pre-order pack.

But the Hunchbacks (plural) look, OKAY, they don't look perfect, i'd honestly prefer if the hunch wasn't dynamic on the multiple guns. It's big enough to have all the weapons fit inside it without changing its look.

The problem with the variable geometry is PGI isnt accounting for weapon space inside the mech section its housed in. So every mech has the same amount of barrel sticking out regardless of how much torso/arm it is supposed to have housing that barrel & firing mechanism.

Also, most people forget how ugly the Cataphract normalization was, that Russ actually forced the art team to redo the very same week they released it.

Well, i guess i found another thing to ***** about.
Non-functioning Jumpjet ports!
Posted Image
As you can clearly see, quickdraw has 5 Jumpjet ports. 2 in each Side torso and 1 in the Central Torso, which coincides perfectly with its TT counterpart.
Posted Image
HOWEVER, in this image, you can also clearly see that the Central Torso Jumpjet port isn't working! Keep in mind that, i actually had CT mounted jumpjets in this Quickdraw.

How did I never notice this?! My OCD is in overdrive now and i wonder, if there are more mechs that have broken JJs! (ignoring the non-JJ variants of JJ-capable mechs, that still have the ports, because having them use slightly different geometry is too much work)

You guys are funny. I talked about this in closed beta. One of my last posts before I quit laid out how screwed up the scaling is and how its screwing up balance. Go check my post history, I'll wait.

Now you finally start to get it, or is it a new group of players figuring out how screwed up the balance is, and a major factor of that is mech scaling, models, and hit boxes.

You're talking about the time when Catapults were one of the best, if not the best mech in the game? Yeah no wonder people ignored you.

Catapult probably needs it the most, but I already made crappy GIMP mockups of how to fix the Mist Lynx's geo:

Sorry, but I MUCH prefer MWO's catapult (before the VCRs ofc).

I love the look of my founders cat, but hate the size. It feels like it is almost an assault sometimes.

A shrinkage of it and a revision of it's missile boxes back to having one box and no strap-on boxes is the way to go.

I love the Awesome, Catapult, Trebuchet and Quickdraw.... guess why I don't play MWO very often?

Yeah how about not so much. If you're attempting to troll me you're failing.

The Cat early on in the game was really powerful without a doubt, but along with a couple others, needs a heavy dose of work as players realized mech size, scaling, and as an extension of that hotbox size, are in need of work. Another issue is size vs armor.

Smaller mechs are harder to hit. Mediums and heavies that are almost as big as an assault is fail.

The center port isn't a JJ thruster, but instead the coolant flush ejection nozzle.

Not sure if sarcasm.

Because in TT, Quickdraw has 5 Jumpjets, one of which is in the CT.
It seems like an oversight, like forgetting to animate feet on some of the clan mechs.

But since barely anybody uses Quickdraws, they never bothered to fix it, or maybe they never even noticed it.

Yea, I'm joking :)

I'm with you though, it should work. It's not like it isn't possible, I'm pretty sure the Highlander has it's 3 JJ exhaust nozzles visually firing when it JJs.

I don't agree with you, so I'm trolling, got it. You must be new to this internet thing.
If you believe PGI was ever going to buff a mech that was already overperforming you really don't understand how developers work. Be realistic here, they could have rescaled it and be forced to significantly nerf it some way or another, or they could have done nothing and achieved the exact same thing. Guess what option someone who actually has to pay for all that work would choose.

Not really new, I was trolling people on the internet when you were in grade school.

The Cat took a few nerfs, direct and indirect. The big ones were how far the body could turn/rotate. Shooting people with the gauss cat backwards while running forward was always fun. This was a needed and direct nerf. Adding in the oversized and ridiculous extra missile ports was a direct nerf, and unneeded. Indirectly, jump jets getting gutted, as well as terrain changes hurt the mech as well. Add in the fact its 90% of the size of the Stalker and you have a balance issue. A simple rescaling to reduce its size and removal of the extra missile ports would help the Cat a bunch.

So you're willfully ignorant then? You're really not helping your case here.

You probably already know how I feel about the Catapult arms so I'm not going to go into that, but let's be realistic, PGI has never ever rescaled a mech, no matter how many times people asked for it. Why on Terra would you think they'll start now? There's plenty of other things PGI could do for the Catapult that they have done for other mechs in the past such as undoing old nerfs and tweaking hitboxes, so don't waste your time asking for the one thing you're never going to get.
In response to complaints about the Catapult's size we got what exactly? Internal structure quirks, that's what. That should be your answer and it sounds suspiciously like a resounding "nope".
