Nice event - I'll be joining in.
According to this: http://mwomercs.com/...t-phoenix-faqs/
I am correct. Therefore I don't understand the announcement - is it referring to the phoenix medallion or the bronze faction ones?
It refers to the bronze faction medallions that came with your phoenix pack. Unto which I discovered the hard way that they only work if you are actively fighting for the faction that the emblem represents. (I was stupid and grabbed a couple from other houses I liked.) This was not announced when medallion choosing was available, and I had to learn it the hard way.
Personally, I'd rather not have the +2.5% loyalty boost (though it is nice) and rather have all bronze medallions work no matter what faction emblem is showing. I think this would be a bit more fair.
As for a resale of the phoenix pack, I do know that some people had specifically asked for a resale of it. (Of course, this was back when the Phoenix pack was the qualifier for the King Crab loyalty mech for any IS mech packs.) My vote is, depends upon how it's resaled. Remove all the preorder stuff and release only the (P) mechs and variants (with mechbays) and I'll have no issues with it personally.

Though I didn't specifically address this above, I do not believe that this is the case. Though I can't say I was watching for it, I have not seen any loyalty increase from my Overlord medallion.

Lot of people asked about opening the Phoenix Project again, but just as many saying it would be a bad idea. Now we finally get to settle the dispute once and for all.
A+ event, well done PGI. Plus free goodies on the side for everybody.
Tarogato pretty much sums it up.
My only issue is the proximity to the Founders event. If you push events like this too close you are bound to run out of steam, I know for one as a player that spent most of last weekend on the Founders challenge I cannot do the same again this weekend, I simply need a break.
Put it this way, in the sports world you generally do not put matches back to back, the players (generally) have time to train, recover from injury etc etc etc. NB: Please - this is an analogy, I know the difference!
There is real life, there is the need to refresh mind etc, after slogging it out like hell to get to 3rd place my head needs a break. This challenge is too soon. That is all.
I feel it is unfortunate as a top tier Phoenix owner, I will not have a presence on this weekends leaderboards (dat left side of sig is gonna be lonely for a while)

They said it was a limited time offer, they are trying to avoid taking blame for lies by putting it on the owners of the pack.
Smacks of desperation.
Man up keep your promises, ohhh LOL its PGI.
If they were actually desperate, in any way shape or form, they would expand the window from when the mechs were purchasable as a pack to when they became available for cbills. And then they would release the phoenix pack WITHOUT input from phoenix owners. IF they were desperate for money, they would be doing much more oderous things like releasing DLC map packs like Call of Duty, Battlefield or any other money-grabbing tactic they could think of. Then release "remixed" collection mech packs. and increase the price of mech wave collections....and a whole slew of other potential things. But they aren't doing that.
This isnt desperation, this is how you interact with the community on a very touchy subject. It sounds like you are in a particularly bitchy mood today and looking for an axe to grind.

Yes, it would be nice to get the Saber Package, but Phoenix was a big thing at the time. It was a LIMITED TIME offer. It'd be like them re-releasing the Gold Mechs again in 3 weeks time.
Not like the Founders deal though. As posted above, that was a completely different kettle of fish. That was like buying a Lotto ticket and hoping for the jackpot (or, you know, investing in a kickstarter game....).
So in short, no, the Phoenix Package should NOT be available again. BUT, I would like to see a Tukayyid pack or packs (one for IS, one for Clan, perhaps). They could even be remix packages of currently available chassis, with a <CW> variant for each chassis per pack that provides bonus Loyalty Points.
Dood... Gold mechs are still available.... they never went un-available >_>

Timberwolf is completely sold out, and several other chassis are low in stock. You literally cannot buy a gold timberwolf, it was sold out almost immediately.

Now this is a great idea! Lots of Classic BattleMechs that need some love shown... I mean, PGI has given us some Mechs that never saw the digital side of BT Universe... only trapped on a tabletop. I'm sure their Art Development team can work up some awesome Phoenix Hawks and Stingers and... Marauder?

While it doesn't relate to rarity specifically (although I guess supply and demand DOES relate to rarity), you'll never physically have all that money in your bank accounts. And just like your mechs, when the servers go down (ie: a huge world catastrophe happens), you won't have access to all that virtual currency either.
Some people trade rare art. Technically, it's a currency of all it's own...just not backed by any government agency, not widely accepted and not nearly as liquid. But what actual value does the paper a $1 bill is printed on actually have?

Huh. I actually thought they had stopped that "limited time" sale.... My mistake. So, since all Mech packages are going to be available for ever and ever and ever, may as well Resell the damned Phoenix mechs.

Now all this being said, if PGI was going to do a new Phoenix package with different mechs perhaps 2 or3 mechs and said if the original Phoenix players met a goal they would unlock the new package and get one of the mechs for free, I would agree that would be a good thing...

Odd I don't really get your point. Only in some rare cases are any raw materials or components of a final product worth more than the end result, the product itself. Perhaps you can say the sheet metal of a car skin for instance is worth more than a car, after it's been a wreck.
Bilbo is stating that since this is electronic and is just code, that he has no real concern about rarity and having an assumption that his phoenix set has a greater value. But to extend that to his actual finances would not be a logical association.
A valid counterargument would've been that since you own something that was on sale for a limited time, you have a feeling of exclusivity of which one can derive a sense of uniqueness or belonging to a limited club, of which you can associate a value.

sleazy move
voting no
by putting them on sale again you've altered the terms of the original purchase after the purchase. you would owe the original purchasers compensation as restitution.
