I really hate how all the new released mechs have insane quirks compared to the other mech of the same chassis. Revamp all of them, don't make one of them the better choice. It's one thing to chose a mech on its loadout but when one has better armnor better mobility then the loadout takes a second place.

Im not to run after the better chassis, i use the chassis i feel like at any moment given. But if one variant of a chassis eclipse the others then my choice do become much more narrow.

For the sake of clarification, im not talking about the enforcer but the new variants released recently. lct hgn blr etc.

That's not true though. If you want real balance, just bringing the top bar down doesn't magically fix everything and make all mechs equal. You bring the top bar down, and then the second stringers are now the top bar. So you bring those down, then the third stringers are now top bar, which can easily result in previously top tier mechs now being top tier again, because you nerfed the second stringers and they ended up below them. The process basically has to repeat over and over until you have some kind of semblance of balance. It's just as arbitrary as picking the bottom mechs and beefing them.

PGI also didn't *have* to give offensive quirks to the worst mechs. They could have given them more armor or maneuverability or speed or hitbox adjustments, or any number of things that would increase their defensive capabilities. Instead they deliberately chose to go with huge, offensive oriented quirks and very few defensive ones. It's the offensive quirks and PGIs decision to grant offensive quirks almost exclusively that lowered the TTK.

Technically, this is also true, but doing it the other way around isn't any better.

The real solution for game balance purposes is to figure out whether the top or bottom bar is smaller. Whichever of those two is the smaller, you adjust towards the center bars. Then you repeat determining which bar is smaller and adjusting towards center. This prevents both deflation and inflation while working towards balance.

And continuing with the focus on community communication, they go thru with these idiotic nerfs without even bothering to tell us "we know you are angry but we will not change them". Please keep doing this PGI, at this point I don't even care if this game loses all its players.

...but you are not wrong either. The ones crying for balance probably don't want balance, they just feel they don't have enough of an advantage...

The only hope for fairness is that everyone's toes are stepped on equally.

Exactly, now get back in line so I can drop an Atlas on those toes ...

What should be done is to admit that the current system of Ghost Heat and Quirks are not working as well as hoped and to start over balancing everything.

Also make it so that every time you change something on an IS mech it is locked in the hanger for a random dice roll of hours/days scaling with the extent of the refit since the advantage of Omnimechs was that they could quickly be reconfigured and currently the IS mechs are more configuarable than Omnimechs with no downsides. Should the player need to use that IS mech immediately, they may make use of the field jury rig rules at their own risk.

From the list of quirks, and punishments, seems I should sell off all my clan mechs and invest heavily in IS?

I'm going to be honest, I would have been less upset if they nerfed the weapons themselves rather than the two most popular Clan 'mechs a few weeks before the Wave 3 pack came out.
This is obviously a push to force people into abandoning their current drop-decks and buy 'mechs that havn't been nerfed.

Thank you for making two of what are the supposed premier clan mechs almost totally worthless. You are essentially making stormcrows and timberwolves missle and ballistic only mechs. Can't even use ppc's anymore. I'm sure I feel like many others when i say that I feel robbed for spending real money on mechs that are now unplayable for certain play styles. So I'd just like to say a special screw you PGI since you already did it to us. Thanks a player that will be playing a lot less.

Sincerly, Nemytis.

The nerf was done this way to make players want to run Ebon Jag and Shadow Cat.

I think PGI screwed the pooch with this one... and, I think they know it...

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a rollback in the next couple days, just like we did with the ridiculous game mode fiasco.

You never know where the line is, until you cross it.

If i remember correctly, only about 12,000 players showed up for the battle of Tukayyid. That should have been a pretty serious and heavily attended community event. The reality is, the community is already gone. And worse, the game is so shallow and has such a steep entry curve and is vastly expensive to play if you hope to actually achieve anything that it simply doesn't pull and keep players. There is, basically, a small contingent of players dropping huge sums of money into this game.

Its a catch 22 for both devs and players. Devs have to exploit player's hunger for new content to gain revenue, and have to constantly shift the balance of the game to discourage player comfort and complacency. Players have no alternate to play a niche franchise, so must constantly dump funds into a game to keep up with the paradigm. Devs can't build a game player like too much, and players can't like the game they're investing in. No one is satisfied but the wheels keep turning.

I was one of a handful of players, that never ran the vomit/meta builds, that the community B****ed about. i saw them as a crutch or lack of skill. know I'm being punished for using the lasers hard points that come on the Mech?. I have both the Timberwolf and Dierwolf... i did change omni-pods on a few Mech chassies to suit my builds, but none of my Timberwofs have more than 4 lasers and only 1 of my Dierwolfs has 6med lasers...

I like the ability to fight at different ranges. and I never used the meta builds, EVER! I run mixed builds and i like it. it gives me more options in combat... but know I'm going to need to switch up my builds "AGAIN' just so i can be effective. so you can kiss CLAN lasers/Vomit goodby and say hello to LRM... and "shudder" clan ballistic vomit.

I dont understand why they nerfed stormcrow and Timberwolf lasers, the were already had a long duration and crappy heat management. PGI, are you insane? Why make it worse? the quirks seem unnecessary.

Hail for the nerfs of Clan Mechs!

Many Claners claim that they are not OP but how come can't you see the far better damage done by your lasers, better range, weight less, ocupy less critical slots, the fact that you are not dead after destroying your side torso (XL Engines...).

Nerf Clan mechs as far as you want, as for me, but PLS leave IS alone.
