My 4 medium laser timberwolf has +15% laser burn and cooldown and my laserboat has +21% to both. Even my 2 LPL build has +6% on both. That's TWO FRIGGIN LASERS and I'm getting penalized because of boats. Yeah, my laserboat has been nerfed, but my other T-Wolfs aren't laserboats at all. Why the hell are they being nerfed? This is bullshizzle, PGI. Seriously.
Stop with this crap and put in sized hardpoints, or engine draw/limits, or something else to mitigate alpha-strike boats. I understand that. Those solutions make sense. But penalizing us all because you're unwilling to FIX the fundimental problems of the game smacks of laziness. Look, all these quirks, one by one, mech by mech, are going to piss everyone off sometimes, so you'll always have people pissed of or feeling the pain of your balancing issue. Maybe, even, with these proposed ideas there will still be balancing issues. But these solutions would help the overall game for everyone. In Battletech, slow, steady tactics mostly win the race. In most 1st person games, headshots win. Those people under the illusion that this is like MOST 1st person games will be pleasantly surprised to find that battletech really is a simulator, with mech pummeling each other over time than simply getting cored in one shot by the biggest, baddest mechs. I KNOW that's what you want, that's what we all wanted from the beginning.
Stop the madness, PGI. Clan mechs cost a LOT of money for those who pre-order them. We aren't paying that money for crap, we EXPECT that we're paying for the best mechs. You can argue that, 'well, gee, they already have endo-steel, XL engines, etc... but that's not why people spend more for those mechs. They want the hero (I) bonuses from the Prime (I) mechs, and they want them earlier than others. If you're going to nerf clan tech, then give us all a partial refund.
Or, maybe address the alpha-meta as a whole with changes to mech construction and/or mechanics, that affect ALL high-alpha mechs OR just let us have what we PAID for. But don't do this to us. It's unfair, a poor business decision, and takes away from both our enjoyment of the game and your credibility as a game developer.

My build runs pretty hot normally, but now it just feels like I installed HeatSafe™ software to stop me blowing myself up so much.

Sorry I typed that wrong, I meant to say I wasn't boating lasers, all my builds have some lasers in them, but we shouldn't have to have negative quirks from hard points we don't use and cannot even change

Couldn't wait to quit the game after I died.
Will try again next patch.
MWO is in Dark Ages mode....Classic Battletech is long dead here.

proper SCR loadouts still work very fine.
bad loadouts will not work anymore.
a shame that people that love battletech now cry about the fact that they have to use the customization given to them to fix their loadout. and quit.
