Can someone link or explain how this 20% + 20% happens?
Are the nerfs additive ? 12% LT + 3% arm + 6% CT = 20% ???
Just asking for clarification.

Also longer duration = better cooling?? LMAO More like less damage on target and more shots for equal damage = hotter mech.

May be I'm wrong, but now I understand Omnipod quirks as something like "set bonuses" - final quirk, that will be listed on 'Mech info tab, is a summary of all Omnopod quirks.

Crazy idea but lets see how it plays out for a couple of weeks after the nerfs before going off the deep end :)

Unlike PGI I can run a calculator, screwing around I came up with all of two builds that I would even attempt on a Timber, and they both rather suck. Oh and I remember the first time they 2 sec durationed the ER-Llas, its was impossible to use them because the enemy either moves, or you get punched in the face so hard you don't do it again.

......and unless you want a 1.6s burn on mlas you sure as **** don't stack mediums or smalls, JUST using the prime arms on a Timber is enough to push a clan MPL to 0.95s burns. Even my dual AC10 Timber has 4 lasers on it.

So the hell with it, refund my wave three I'm not paying to have anything good that does come out of it nuked into the floor, and I'm just fine with my 100 or so IS mechs.

Longer duration + longer cooldown

And yes, its quite literally +3% for each PER energy slot applied across the mech, so again, just using the prime arms on either is a flat 24% DPS nerf for every energy weapon.

The cooldown is general energy as well, so it'll hit the PPCs, adding 4,48s for a C/ER-PPC?

It's all about making sure the IS-centric players don't migrate over to the Clan tech.

PGI is not very good at people math.

Yeah so stock Timberwolf takes a 11% damage hit, that is stock, the standard laser vommit build is around 28%, Stormcrow Prime takes 22%

Those are global by the way

I finally figured out why I haven't spent any money, or even c-bills, to buy new mechs.

It's because I don't know what I'm buying anymore.

Imagine if your Car Dealer came by your house 6 months after you bought a car and they started hauling out your Stereo and dialed back your fuel injection system. "Sorry buddy, but we decided to make some changes".

Minus 9% dps more if you use the -C center for the JJ.

I guess, 19th May patchnotes were published by PGI so early only to find out, how many TBR-A refund requests they would collect, before reverting this stupid 40% overnerf? No. I won't request TBR-A to be refunded due to not seeing, where it's so OP to have all energy weapons nerfed by 20% and also lasers by another 20%, resulting in 40% nerf to lasers.

But this doesn't mean, I won't react anyhow at all. Prior to this patch I was going to invest money into following things:
1) Buy new Cataphract and Battlemaster variants for my collection.
2) Buy Mauler A'La Carte.
3) Buy Hellbringer A'La Carte.

No, PGI, you should know, that I decided not to do it due to TBR overnerf. I don't really see, where it's so OP to be nerfed. 6xCUAC5 DireWolf is OP, Quad Gauss DireWolf is OP, even my 2xGauss+PPC DireWolf is OP, but not TimberWolfs - may be they need slight nerf, but not 20%+20% overnerf, sorry - this is unreasonable nerf.

Overnerf? I'm sorry, did the Timberwolf slip out of its DOMINANT role as pretty much the best clan mech in the game due to its ridiculous mobility, firepower, heat efficiency, AND armor? No no, just stop crying that your OP mech got toned down and realize that its still on top, just not as ridiculous. The amount of reduction of the quirks is minimal and if it causes you to 'be bad' in the mech then you were never really a decent player to begin with, you just rode on the coattails of the quirks you had letting them carry you.

Suck it up, look forward to some actual balance in the game finally as PGI has begun to figure out its quirk system apparently.

So you can't run laservomit quite as effectively anymore. Still a better me h than the orion. Still has tons of viable builds, just not the 58pt laser alpha at ~500m. It is finally moving is back near a 35pt alpha for consistant effective accurate fire at that range.

Both mechs are still excellent. People are just used to a single easy loadout being flat out superior on the two mechs that were already superior.

...IS still has more laser vomit a LOT more, and they have been running it in CW unrepentantly for months. What is the more common drop deck? FS9 pair of thuds and stalker/battlemaser?

Hence the -5SS being FAR and away the most common mech for the Tuk event?

my reaction and the reaction already of 2 other people i play with is request for refund on wave 3, if denied will force through CC which will likely result in a ban from PGI.

so i say to you PGI hats off you still havent a clue what the actual issues are in your game and you have potentially in one unit of the guys i drop with in the unit lost 3 paying customers of which we all have purchased every mech pack, all use premium time, and 1 of which has purchased every variant you ever released for $$ and he actually went so far as to uninstall and call it done.

sad days in the world of MWO indeed.

Bad analogy to use though.
We Own our Cars. We do not own Mechs, we Rent them for as long as the servers stay up. Our cars being our property cannot be changed without our consent. The same isn't true for here. And as a result, and the terms of our purchases we have to deal with whatever changes are made.
PGI is not the first company to nerf over performers, and they won't be the last.

I think a lot of this would have been mitigated if other chassis were looked at for improvements.

Just so you know, 12% increased cooldown and duration to lasers from the quirks on that build translates to roughly a 4.8% reduction in DPS.
