Phoenix Rising Event Issues Resolved

Perhaps if the events were split up, suuch as one for long-time players and one for the newer players, it might make it a little more even but grouped together with old and new players just is not fair.
No wonder i do not give a second thought about any event or 'contest' on this game, since I have only been playing for 3 months or so and cannot hope to win one, if any of the prizes available.

Well, actually, I've been involved first hand in a couple of conspiracies, so my advice is not to discount all of them out of hand.

Actually, the Founders and Phoenix Mechs are mostly under-powered vs other meta Mechs that are in more common usage, so it's been easier for other people to get kills and assists during these events than it would usually be.

People are less critical of your mistakes, if you post in such a way as to remind us of beloved cultural icons

You could be right, but I feel that it if events like these were divided into different categories, one for new players ust getting started and one for players wo have been playing for yonks (a really long time, say since the game first started) then it might be a little more fair, since i know quite a few people who would love to get some of the rewards offered but just have no hope in heck because veteran players have mastered their 'Mechs, know which 'Mechs of theirs and weapons are the best to use, while a lot of new players are either still stuck with trial 'Mechs before they are able to buy their first 'Mech or not used to the controls of the 'Mech/game yet.

Basically, get 1 kill amd some damage, or 250+ damage and some assists and you get 30 match score.
I've done it in a LRM Adder, a MG Kit Fox, and a Locust 1M.
Also, generally, ELO balances the games to a degree, so long time players will be in a different bracket to you (unless they suck, or you're in that 'high, low' ELO point and commonly hit 'low, high' ELO players with overflow)
And for the first 25 matches, you're at a fixed low-medium ELO.
Though I do agree, the new player experience in this game is pretty harsh and it can take 3-6 months to properly know what you're doing and get your feet under you, with the minimal tutorials, documentation, etc.
They're supposedly fixing that for the steam release, so hopefully in 3-6 months that will improve at least.

As in, knowing what sort of chasis you prefer,
owning 1-2 your own kitted out mechs,
unlocked full basics, possibly elited,
knowing how your machine works fully,
knowing roughly what target priority you need,
potentially being ready to progress to CW.
Yes, you should get the basics down inside a month.
And joining a unit, or spending more than an average of 1-2 hours a day will speed this all up.

I would have gotten it already, in the last 23 matches alone, when I dealt the most damage to an enemy before a team member comes along and takes the kill before I have a chance to have my weapons recharge, which should change. You only get a kill assist, no matter how much damage you do, you only get the kill if you are the one who fired the killing shot. For me, I would prefer that instead of kill assist and whomever it is that makes the actual kill either get half the points for the kill each (ie 1 each or 1/2 each) or the person who dealt the most damage should be the one who gets the score.
I have already lost almost 18 kills today because team members took the kill that I had spent working on an enemy until they were near dead.

You also get rewarded (both in terms of XP & C-bills AND in the match score) for Scouting, Spotting Assists, Flanking, Brawling, Hit & Run, TAG Assist, TAG Damage, TAG Kill etc.
I had a couple of games where I did only 1-200 damage and got no kills, and yet I had a score of 62.

True, you get kill assists, most damage dealt, component destroyed etc but still, when it comes to events like Phoenix Risin, those things do not matter if you do not get the credit for the actual kill.
And as for the scoreboard, I have no way i heck of reading it, let alone understanding it. I think I still stand at 0 in the score ranking for PR :-(

If you had a third option, allowing for a Phoenix II pack using new variants, then that would be okay, I think. But re-releasing a special pack that was over-hyped for its limited time, one chance opportunity is just flat out wrong and, frankly, disrespectful to your consumers who actually bought that product.
