Meh i'd take a Blackjack over a jager anyday, i don't need to hide at the back with dual gauss to have fun or do well.
That's more of an example of a bad build rather than a "bad mech" though, and additionally why would you not use a CN9-A if you want a build with AC10 and 3x SRM4 like that?

As for Ice ferrets though, name me one other mech that has 50+ firepower and runs 143 KPH. Ya.. you cant... and yet most refer to it as "bad" I laugh at them, destroy them then move on to the next target. Best part is you often get ignored Black Jack syndrome I call it.

Ya probably one of the best concept to ingame model mechs to date. They are really great looking.

On TT It was my 1st Ride. I use the Hellslinger here. Love the look. 3 LRM5s give me some fire suppression, the ERPPC good reach 4 Mediums close punch. Its a good ride.

Specs: Jegger
Engine: 225XL 61.7 kph with speed tweak
Armor: 208 points
Fire Power: 20 point alpha
no energy , ammo based UAC-5s only
Have to play it safe and anything you look at you have to KILL fast or you die instantly.

I notoriously hate Assaults and will rant about them all day.
BUT, I used the Phoenix Battlemaster this past weekend for the Phoenix challenge and...I actually enjoyed it a bit. I ran a faux Awesome with it (3 PPCs and 4MLasers). It was a tad bit hot, but I only have the basics done. It ran decent, but I had fun. I might revisit my Battlemasters.

I couldn't even tell you the last time I played a Battlemaster before the challenge this weekend. The 1G is still pretty damn good. The high hardpoints are great, and I agree about the cockpit. It's a good design.
I ran 3 Large Pulse and 3 Mediums in mine during the challenge.
Mine would be the Gargoyle with either 12 smalls or 8 small pulse. Either build wrecks face in a brawl.

I've also just recently fallen in love with this mech. It's made all other jump jet mechs feel lame in comparison with just how much air you get. I'm even just getting the ecm spider just so i can elite the 5v. **** that slowpoke.

Yesssss. One of us. I keep mine close.
I personally like charging Dire Wolves in my 8R. You can sense the puzzlement- the hesitation as they decide if they're being handed a free kill, or if...something is wrong. Is that guy nuts? That's an Awesome.
Though my favourite thing is when an enemy, partlcularly a light, sees you, assumes you are a delicious and vulnerable LRM boat and runs straight at you into point blank range without pressing R.
Mwuah haaa haaaa.
Though if I could change one thing about my precious...I would make its box launchers smaller when fitted with SRMs. Perhaps fitting the much sexier countours of the 8Q?

Yeah i decided to expand on the point with some rather bad builds i actually enjoy.
Why the AH and not the A, like i said i have the YLW and decided to put the something a little different on the AH, plus its the free legacy version.

Quickdraw has the large archetype... Like the ******* 85 ton Stalker...
******* hell, PGI... How ******* daft are they? I'm off to buy myself a cupcake to calm the nerves. Bunch of wankers.
Yeah, Grasshopper was going to have Huge archetype..until I busted Russ out on it. And that forced him to "fix" the Victor and Gargoyle while he was at it. Wish I'd thought to point out the Quickdraw at the same time.

Centurion D-LBX-10/2xMlas/2xSrm-4
Centurion AH-AC10/3xSrm-4 (go YLW so i don't need another AC20 cent.)
Awesome 9M-3xERPPC
Blackjack 1x-8xMlas (TBH this mech is just plain evil, not sure why some consider it not good!)
That CN9-D is what I run (plus 300XL) got to say, in no way shape or form is that a bad mech, though I'm sure our CompMasters would disagree. It might be my most consistent performer. Seems like 580ish dmg and 2-3 kills is the norm for that thing. Obviously I have some worse, and some better, but the amount of matches I land numbers in that range with that mech is uncanny.

I really don't know where the reputation for being "bad" comes from with that 'Mech, though. People say it has wide side torsos which are easy to hit, but it loses side torsos less easily than a Stalker. It can also run faster, has similar or better quirks, has proper arms, and has more useful hardpoints.
But hey, if it's bad, then that's my favorite "bad" 'Mech.
