Is there any? A lot of times I feel like I got body blocked by my teammates. But when I try to stand behind enemies that are backing up in my lights, they just walk right through and then shoot me.

When LegHumping starts, so does the RubberBanding.

It's best to avoid both if possible.

I hate when enemies phase through me, so confusing.

I see, noted. I won't be trying that again.

By the way, do they plan on ever introducing collision detection, or is this the plan going forward?

There was..it was abused, aka "DRAGON BOWLING" because that particular mech was the king of knockovers,.

PGI seems incapable of figuring out how to bring it back without abuse, so........

and certain goons decided to catch paul ingame and "exploit" the mechanic to much lulz....for everyone except Paul who conceived the mechanic if I remember correctly....much like his other noble contribution ghost heat....it is horribly flawed...sadly people cant abuse ghost heat for him
(I also love the 1.4 DHS)

I wonder how many more posters confuse collisions with knockdowns? Collision wasn't abused, knockdown was. PGI can simply reduce the knockdown value to zero and implement previous collision.

Indeed, this whole.. phasing through people and you both teleporting around eachother with no idea where they went.. is beyond annoying.

Need solid collisions, but knockdowns can stay gone.

bah...we need knockdowns so eventually PGI can add pilots and then we can have gunnery/skill (+/- specializations) without nerfing entire weapon types/omnipods/yada yada yada
also so that one day...that locust running around you doing circles on a road will fail a piloting check and smash into a wall...as it is meant to be...

IIRC, the Dragon had (by mistake) the same collision parameters (read: collision weight) as the Atlas. Couple that with the ability to mount really large engines, and there's no surprise we had "designated hitters" - Dragons with max engine, max armour, and little to no weaponry, whose sole job it was to knock down an opponent so that the rest of the team could kill it with impunity (since once knocked down, there was about 3-5 seconds where you didn't have any control over your 'mech).

It was Grief City.

Collisions+knockdowns as implemented back then was a crap mechanic and I'm glad it's gone.

If they could figure that out, I'd be on the barricades cheering. But as long as they can't, it needs to stay gone.

I'm not sure what was worse, being knocked down, or trying to hit an opponent with weapons as he was getting up. When a mech was in the getting off the ground animation, it would rubber band and warp all over the place. You never really knew where to fire. It was a pain.

I would really like collision, and just screw the knock down. But oh well..

Well, we do have collision damage in the game, it's just ridiculously small. How many times has a team mate clipped us at spawn and did 1% damage to one of our legs?

If an enemy has a deep red internal torso, I think you can kill them with a collision as well...I think.

The worst collision damage I have ever seen those was getting caught on terrain on Veridian Bog while JJing. With one JJ attempt, my legs were both stripped of armor and internals turned orange. That was a bit disheartening.
