I wonder if MercStar could win as IS. Just wondering because they are supposed to be a mercenary unit, thus IS, right? It seems like you would only do that to stack the drop deck in your favor since there are a lot less Clan pugs than IS pugs.

We've won plenty as IS and were actually leaning towards joining FRR for Tukkayid. We went clan b/c of the population imbalance that favors IS and were afraid of long wait times for matches, as happened in the first Tukkayid event.

And while we're ostensibly mercenaries, we're not exactly lore/RP players. We'll play along with that stuff for the lulz now and again when it suits us, but we're really just a bunch of randoms out to shoot some robots.

I think you have just uncovered a big piece of the puzzle - How did all of those FRR planets end up with MS tags on them anyways? I was there, I participated in that offensive - but I just do not recall MS enjoying that kind of success. I also know that at the same time ISEN was hanging out at MS - I saw them on the server with my own eyes - they WERE there.... kinda lurking about in a suspicious manner if you ask me. They kept looking away when you looked at them... wouldn't talk to you... that sort of stuff. I should have know they were up to something.

Then just a few short weeks later we have the battle of Tukayyid - and suddenly Mech The Dane has uncounted legions of Sardaukar terror troops at his beck and call - thousands and thousands of uber Space Viking killers coming down from the sky like rain - and just HOW did THAT happen?

I don't know how Mech The Dane managed to switch all of those tags, but he must be able to do it somehow... because everybody knows Mercstar can't win with IS 'mechs. Of that we can be absolutely sure.

After all, Clans still very much OP - Tukayyid proves it. We all saw that with our own eyes.
