I agree with this. Nothing worse than playing with someone with a negative attitude, or always have an excuse for losing.

I love his laugh. You should see his Spider Urbie video. I think he was physically choking from laughter in that one.

I agree with these two. If you want to enjoy MWO, you don't want to play with someone who'll always complain, and whine about "cheaters" and other excuses, instead of realizing that charging solo against 2 lances is a stupid thing to do.

My machine needs an upgrade to be considered a toaster. It's that bad. I play at 16 Fps on the best of days. Here are a couple of things that I've noticed on my machine:
1- At long distance, a lot of things don't render, including entire building (So I actually see what's behind them).
2- At long distance, reflections appear in water regardless of cover. So I even if I can't see you because of terrain or whatever. If you are close enough to the water line, your reflection in the water will show, and I will still get to know EXACTLY where you are. Tracked a stalker on the far side of Forest colony from spawn until he went into the far cover in the water, without having a line of sight to him, because his reflection was rendering in the water, anyways.

Depending upon where the attack comes from and how the armor is allocated on the Dire, a Nova CAN take out a Dire in one volley. 12 Small Pulse Lasers = 72 damage, Dire Wolf CT internal structure = 62, a lot of people seriously under-armor their backs. That and sometimes hit registration goes wonky, I was running around this past morning in a 2xAC20 King Crab, and saw a bunch of shots hit dead center at close range and do no damage. So, yeah, don't blame on cheating what can more easily be explained by normal game interactions and bad hit registration (which plagues the game from time to time).

What we don't know.......the proliferation of those cheats. It could be an isolated incident, it could be everywhere. We don't know.

All we can really say is what we as individuals have seen. I've suspected cheating one time, and even then I wasn't sure. I just shrugged, filed a report with support@mwomercs.com, and let them sort it out. I mean, that's part of what support gets paid for. If you suspect cheating don't call people out, you could be wrong. Just file a report and hopefully support will either find cheating or they won't (it's my understanding that most cheats are easy to spot if you know what to look for).

OH GOD THIS PAINS ME. I too play on a potato.
There I am, sitting in my beloved GaussYager, The FacePuncher™ and cackling with glee as I line up a STATIONARY LIGHT in an attempt to blatantly exploit the awesomeness of 30 damage to something that can't take 30 damage, only to see my shots to be {LT-MOB-25} blocked by the awesome power of invisible building.
OR... my shots will hit a hill that DOESN'T RENDER IT'S EDGES PROPERLY. Seriously, if a hill can render an edge in the wrong spot, surely it can render the edge in the right spot? AMIRITE?

I see this happen a bit. It is also my understanding that weird stuff like this can happen if the settings are right down on low.
Another example is the crimson straight glitch - every time I walk through the tunnel I can see through the side entrance for a split second as the map renders in a weird way. Luckily that's not exactly a fighting spot, but still more than often issues with the maps create weird glitches - distance rendering like said above is one.
As for HSR... ...having a ping of 230 its pretty bad when you come up a mech with half the firepower, but you seemingly do no damage because the HSR is showing hits as registering, but not actually registering. Even happens on targets coming straight at you sometimes. Pretty bad, but luckily only happens from time to time. Still think PGI could do more to address these kinds of issues.. ..more worried about this than 'cheaters'.. ..but anyway.

HNNNNGNGG, everywhere in that map. The worst is one way dirt - the stuff that blocks your shots, but lets enemy fire through no problem.
Or the hills on Caustic. Most of the time, any mech I see at long range is wearing invisible dirt +5 as a curiass. I've gotten used to aiming at the extreme top pixels of whatever mech I can see.

Cheating in massive online games is more than possible. Its widespread. Cheaters are likely to be pattern offenders. If they are able to do it in one game, they may do it in another, and it becomes a pattern in their lives.
That said, it is also established that even though online games are being cheated, the game developers also have algorithmic means of detection and will act accordingly, with resulting consequences.
A lot of things you see online may or may not be cheating. If you think someone is cheating, do not shame the person in public, in case with the real possibilty the person is not cheating at all. If you have suspicions, send in a private report.

What's very hard or impossible is stuff that is talked about in the OP. Damage application is server side, so it's not really possible to absorb more damage than you should (on purpose, at least, we all know HSR does some funky things from time to time).
