Hi PGI I would like to know if the player base has dropped this last week? And if it has how long is the game going to last?

The need to go to Steam ASAP as I stated in another thread they will be fine. They probably will pick up a couple or three Million players easy with a steam release. Please PGI make this happen now don't wait till summer. :)

Doesn't feel like it.

Though summer months we should see a normal downswing, theoretically.

Increase from Students being off school.
Decrease from it being nice out etc.

Increase from Wave 3 arriving.

It is one of theirs most guarded secrets.

BTW, you forgot the question mark in the topic's title.

Here is a more important group of questions.

This is only theoretical,

If the population is dropping, then what?

If the population is increasing, then what?

If you knew the population was <2000 people a day, would you still play?

If you knew the population was >10,000 people a day, would you still play?

Usually if populations drop, developers don't want others to know the numbers as to not scare more people into jumping ship. Ignorance is bliss... until it hits steam and people can see the #'s.

This game has been days from being dead for almost 3 years now. I think the tinfoil hat can be put away.

MWO is a great game even if it has many flaws. B)

Here here.

Bear in mind that there was also recently a huge CW battle that most people will still be recovering from, and a founders tournament.

Both require a fairly huge time investment, so a reduced CW population especially is understandable here.

The Founders tourney took a huge time investment? I got my 20 games no problem...unless you're referring to people going for the leaderboard thing.

Glad I didn't bother with Tukayyid.

Over 17,000 people particpated in the Battle of Tukkayid, so we're probably doing alright population-wise.

Yep, leaderboard. There comes a point where you're just grinding for points, hoping for a perfect game - and when you get it, you increase your total by a whopping 10 or 20. That sort of grind is bananas.

70,000 people bought Founders packs.

Only 2,000 voted in the Founder's map update poll.

Do the math.

Keep in mind that events actually scare away players who are not happy with MWO's metas. The worst kinds of players come out of the woodwork and it makes the game extremely unpleasant.

I've been staying out of the events. There's no fun in it.

Lately it's been perpetual events.
"Play the game!"
"Please play!"
"Super rewards! Play!"

Stop pumping these dang events and I'd be happy to. Jeebus.

The MWO player base has dropped 90 % since closed beta Soon MWO will be like Hawken nothing but ghost severs and a memory because PGI will not listen to common sense about how to run a vibrant MechWarrior community and understand this IP.

Hear, hear!

The community asked for more events, and ... we sure did get more events alright, but there's this thing called moderation that the developer haven't entirely grasped the concept of yet, in multiple respects.
