In any case, something like that should be a warning thing, not a full out ban like aimbot/wallhack. Its not a tool used to get an advantage in game..

We got answer people, thank you!
But we should get warning on forum about sweetfx in near future if they will ban for that!
One would think that as many people use the tool and as there are threads about it on these forums, they would let people know if there was going to be problem going forward.

Technically it does break the rules for a couple of reasons.
It is possible to use innocently to genuinely make the game a little nicer looking, and thats what most of its users are doing.
However with the right settings it can be abused to go well into cheat territory.
I would not be using it at all unless PGI makes a statement that they will allow it.

Sounds like this program has the potential for mischievous skins so I wouldn't use it.

Everything that SweetFX does is something we could do in the user.cfg until they nearly completely locked it down. We wouldn't need it if they would just unlock the useful parts of the user.cfg.
I've contemplated using SweetFX so the game doesn't look so washed out. The only thing keeping me is that it injects code much like a hack, so it'd be detectable by anti-cheat software and register as such.
