Alright I would like to ask a community is SweetFX forbidden? I know alot dudes using it but from what I heard it is not cheating, I tried to read rules about sweetFX but unfortunately I cant understand them very well, so I would like to ask you is that cheat tool so I can remove it or is it allowed? Would appreciate answer from official PGI guy but community should be enough I guess. Thanks!

It probably might be... I'm unsure of its "injection method", but I assume that would alter the game's visuals and thus fall under altering the game.

Well.. was altering skins in CS considered hacking? I don't think you could get banned for that....

In any case, something like that should be a warning thing, not a full out ban like aimbot/wallhack. Its not a tool used to get an advantage in game..

Yes, sweetfx is against TOS. No, they aren't banning for it.... yet? Alexander gardenia has a post in the banhammer thread that talks about this.

We got answer people, thank you!

But we should get warning on forum about sweetfx in near future if they will ban for that!

One would think that as many people use the tool and as there are threads about it on these forums, they would let people know if there was going to be problem going forward.

Well the answer was linked but adding that I have never seen a game that bans because of it.

Its a bit of a grey area.
Technically it does break the rules for a couple of reasons.

It is possible to use innocently to genuinely make the game a little nicer looking, and thats what most of its users are doing.

However with the right settings it can be abused to go well into cheat territory.

I would not be using it at all unless PGI makes a statement that they will allow it.

When in doubt post an in-game screenshot of the customizations. Back in CS it was "innocent" to have some custom skins, but in league matches, both teams had to submit screenshots to show they weren't using unfair skins. Some leagues you had to use stock skins, but I know of players who use used those lego-man style models that bloated the hitboxes. Some of the hitbox in CS is invisible, but this skin set would color in all hitbox area as a visible in game model. The result is these guys could headshot someone by the corner of their hitbox that was visible to them even though to that player, maybe they were completely behind cover. Only their invisible hitbox was on the edge where it could be hit.

Sounds like this program has the potential for mischievous skins so I wouldn't use it.

Everything that SweetFX does is something we could do in the user.cfg until they nearly completely locked it down. We wouldn't need it if they would just unlock the useful parts of the user.cfg.

I've contemplated using SweetFX so the game doesn't look so washed out. The only thing keeping me is that it injects code much like a hack, so it'd be detectable by anti-cheat software and register as such.

Players who use things like SweetFX have nothing to worry about (so long as they aren't also using a cheat tool), and we do not ban players for macro use.

Makes me reconsider using it.
