Lisa was the designer for the Urbie cockpit?

Lisa WINS the interwebs.

I'll second that emotion! Oh so happy with my Urbanmechs.

And I am happy that some of the designers aren't old school Battletech gamers - we can too easily be cemented in our old sentimental, stodgy ways that could actually make the game suck! (Small lasers that gave a range of more than 90m?!? Blasphemous!!!). I'll admit it, I complained about a big engine cap on my beloved Urbies, but against my better judgement I find they are pretty dang fun scooting around stuffed with laser beams!

I'm just glad to see that we have females heavily involved in the design process. Tina, when you described the Madcat as "cute", that kind of input is genuinely important - good aesthetics can help people accept foreign ideas easier, and anything you can do to get the ladies interested in giant stompy robots is better for us all.

As for the mediocre interview skill, not a big deal. Y'all did fine! Crank some more of these out weekly, and you'll get more comfortable, and things will go more naturally.

As for some mechs that could use your "cute-ification", I think the "soccer ball with a jet pack" Hornet is a good candidate, and I still really need a Javelin, think like a Commando but with a barrel chest; more Dwarf than Halfling if you are into that genre.

Hmm.. Tina is much taller, than I thought.. (Because, her cute little voice.. I always thought of her, in a cockpit item size...)

And the most important thing for me, what I saw in this video is,... that, these Devs, really-really like their works, like MWO and like our Mechs.. I am really happy, that such people work on our game..

Well Tina, as much as I am glad to see you guys making a dev log in so long, I think this video was quite a disapointment to see at best. No offense. The last few weeks we've had no podcasts by Phill and the NGNG for quite awhile now and it would've been nice if we had some updates as well..

for example, The Clan Invasion Event Extended in CW. Why the extension and what other events are we expected to see in june? Then there is the recent article about how 64 people got a boot shoved up their ass for that ONE specific reason and GOOD RIDDENCE. What caught these individuals doing it. Then last but not least, There is the issue about the new Mechlab U.I. Whats the ETA on it so far?

Tina. as much as i like to say you are so cute in doing the dev log, Please. Work on your public speaking skills. it gets easier the more you do it. I know the topic was all about ART but there were things that you guys shouldve included in the dev log that shouldve been mentioned so the audiance is aware that you guys are on top it.

When anyone calls a mech "CUTE" they need to think about the purpose of the machine, it is a walking shooting death machine.
Mechs don't want to be "CUTE" they want to bring destruction and fear to the enemies.

Sorry, but the urbanmech is cute. The kit fox is cute. The cicada, commando, locust, spider, mist lynx, adder and raven are all cute. Even the stalker with its stupid little baby feet can be cute sometimes when it stomps around and turns on the spot.

Yes. It was dressed up for the Vlog by our art director Dennis.

I think what Tina did interview-wise was cute, but she's supposed to be driving the conversation a little.

More rehearsing of some sort would help... the most important part is honestly to get people talking... and it's much more interesting if it were somewhat informal. It's actually good to hear some of the answers from Alex when talking about the artwork and how it translates into the game (the Crab not being able to see its arms unlike the King Crab is kinda cool to know). It's important for people to know some personal tidbits on what they liked and disliked working on... at least for context. It makes for a better show/interview.

I don't know if you have any personal experience of being in front of a camera, I was on national TV in the U.K some 28 years ago, as an officer in a reenactment group giving out orders, now i'd done this plenty of times to live crowds of several thousand people, but when the guy pointed the camera at me, and and the director started saying we want this and then you do this, as if I actually could act, I near damn crapped myself, the first take of me telling the other guys to give fire, I sounded like micky mouse on helium, so I know where they were coming from, as they had that same OMFG look I had.

They will lose that stifled look of terror, after a few of these Vlogs, the confidence will come, and the information was interesting and good to hear, thank god the pilot is being changed !

"If you were a MechWarrior, which Mech would you be?" lmfao that was just too innocent not to love Tina even more now

Alex, thanks for correcting her about which Mech you'd pilot... but you should've just rolled with the question dude! :D

What the hell took so long?

It had been since November (16 November 2014 - 03:49 AM) the last Dev Vlog that I had actually figured they would NEVER be making another one. So what changed? The fact you actually looked at your forums and noticed the out dated Dev Vlog?

I have a question for Lisa.
If my Dire Wolf has these badass NOS tanks in it why does it go so slow? :)

Good post. It's easy to take the amount of work that goes into a mech for granted but this interview brings to light how much time and effort it takes to bring a good working model into the game. I'll try to be a little less critical now that I can associate some faces to the work going on in bringing new mechs into the game.

You know, if you did a mini (fighting or not) game to keep us busy while the CW is looking for a match, I would play a LOT more CW...

Ok there was two questions asked:
- Favorite Cockpit? Griffon
- Mech you wish you could pilot? Mauler

As for the way the dev log went please no ... I want pictures, I want videos, and what ever top secret information you can leak!!!

Is no one going to ask what that giant arcade console "fighter" game behind them is about?

I mean, mechwarrior streetfighter or what?

Also, TY for the vlog guys. It is always nice to hear about stuff coming down the pipe.

Lisa does great work - give her a raise. We spend many hours in the cockpit. Thanks for making them comfy and unique.
