I don't feel it is that bad of a jumper considering it is almost an assault in weight.

Basically I don't feel this is purely a Grasshopper issue, but more of a general JJ issue...and that is a tough issue to sort out (at least a sensitive one).

For me, its more a question of why the Hopper jumps noticably worse than the summoner when they are the same tonnage and mount the same number of Jets. SOMETHING is wrong.

Wait I thought the summoner had 8 jets? I have a summoner and a hopper and I can attest that my summoner jumps half as well as it should... but twice as well as my grassflopper.

Couldn't say, I don't have a Summoner. Ummm..superior clan tech...*shrug* :).

I guess I use the Grasshopper's JJs purely to assist terrain navigation and I hadn't noticed it being obscenely bad. I won't swear up and down it is fine, but I also never found myself thinlng it was bad. It honestly seemed OK.

In any case, I'm not against making it better.

Nope. Summoner has 5 JJs.

I think its something to do with the Hopper being huge movement category and the Summoner being large

WOW. Ok. in this case, I'm rather shocked,my hopper definitely feels about half as jumpy as my summoner, and my hopper actually has a higher top speed due to my summoner not being elited... yeah this needs to be looked at. Bishop, tweet em again...

Ugh. Just tried out the 5P.

Worst pig of the bunch. Mind you, the MetaLords will love it. Stay 800 meters out of battle and spam Large Lasers of various flavors. For those who use the chassis for anything else, especially up close fighting, it has a hugely fatal flaw. One I haven't really checked on the other Hoppers for...because their arms negate it.

Horrible torso pitch.

I was on Crimson Straight and quite literally could NOT fire on mechs on the side of the hill because of the torso pitch. And Jumping didn't give enough elevation to help.

And..... the mech is so tall, and the decline pitch is even worse..... and real short mech like a Commando or Urbanmech or Locust wants to crotch hump you? You literally cannot hit it.

SMH.

I dunno.. it seems ideal for brawling.

I don't think it's meta worthy (unless it suddenly gets PPC quirks).

The thing about being tall has always been about the torso pitch making it worse for light-leg humpers. A Cataphract is actually better at dealing damage to something under it... it's what makes the Atlas and even the Firestarter (with weapons in the torsos) problematic at times (there are others as well I'm sure)... but it's an underrated aspect nonetheless (the jumping Thunderbolt-9SE is just as bad at this).

It is what it is though.

its a 70 ton mech why shouldnt it move like a lead pig? I mean really...

just because the timberwolf has overpowered agility for its tonnage doesnt mean all 70-75 tonners should be just as agile.

the timberwolf actually needs an agility nerf in the form of a fix to engine rating giving less of a turn speed bonus...
