This past weekend I was gifted with a free Cataphract 0XP from Shadow Magnet after answering his request for a poem about the 'Phract in this thread.

http://mwomercs.com/...hriday-ctf-0xp/

So, I'm going to pay it forward by offering a free Locust 3V to the first 5 people who post a poem here about Locusts. :D

A Locust in flight
Tumbling down onto the world
Both legs are destroyed

Locust is my focus
It is small, it and causes ruckus
Is sneaks in without notice
And wrecks your day, and makes you croakus.

Lol...so bad.

I'm not a great poet but there you go:

Small Lasers are red,
Large Lasers are blue
The Atlas is dead
The Locust zipped through!

A mech so small and fast
The Locust bites the ankles
And falls flat when his own legs get mangled.

Edit: Gosh darn it, i'm too late

On my way towards a hill on Tourmaline..
I head over the Assault lance in due time.
Without a chance to put out high damage.
I'll help my Assaults do their damnedest.

Until that point when we have no choice.
Our assaults back pedal without a voice.
Hang on my friends and my Locust hides.
Until that moment when I'm the only one alive.

I'm dead.

Darn nice. Darn nice.

If I qualify for the Locust 3V with my typo'd mess, you can give mine to CygnusX7. Nice poem.

The Charge of the Light Brigade
Alfred Lord Tennyson, 1854

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honour the charge they made,
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.

(Yes, I know the giveaway is over, and I don't want nor need another Locust - I just thought this poem was apropos in a giveaway thread for Locusts)

The Locust turns to an Urbanmech and says...

Crows to the left of us
Jesters to the right
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.
Yes I'm stuck in the middle with you.

And I'm wondering what it is I should do,
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face,
Losing control, yeah, I'm all over the place,
Crows to the left of me, Jesters to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.

Thank you Steelers Wheel :D

Can you imagine four regiments (~600 mechs) of nothing but Locusts? What a giant swarm!

All right, if that's the way you want to play it... I can play too:

Scouting back on the map for a little CB
Got to find just the kind for losin' my mind
Outta sight in the night, outta sight in the day
Scouting back on the map, gonna do it my way

Outta sight in the night, outta sight in the day
Scouting back on the map, gonna do it my way
Scout back

Scouting for some extra XP but there is only friendly 'mechs to find
Jump to the left, turn to the right
Scouting up hills, scouting behind

(with apologies to George Baker)

****... looks like me and my beloved locust have showed up to this party a bit late. :(

But with out further delay... here is mine anyways....

Oh my locusts, how I love thee, never late to the party, (except for today) ever speeding off to kill the next dire whale trying to leg me.....

The more they try to leg me, the faster I run, all six small lasers firing off into their ankles and crotch one by one...their dual gauss ppc's will never hit me, I am as fast as fast can be.......

As I run under their legs, and fire my massive alpha, I think to myself, as I shoot off their ppc....oh my locust's how I love thee!
