The only good publicity this game deserves was the crucifixion is got for Transverse and not delivering on promises, as well as the "oops forgot to develop CW" fiasco. Putting out a half measure patch that's filled with as many "wth" moments as good ones isn't really something to get all jazzed about.
Beta 2, lol

I mean, why would all of a sudden where Tuesday had to be the day that the mechlab have to go live?
Currently the gaming industry and the online gaming reviews (not talking about metacritic, but more like PC Gamer in general) are not really set up to report the reality. They're more or less paid pieces for every game's PR... or they'll never get to preview the game. It's always been the looming threat, and for the most part why gaming journalism (and certain other types of journalism) has lowered in any sort of journalism standards... only for the money and access.

oh look all the usual reddiots in the pcgamer comments still whining and trying to sink the boat.
Also funny, reviews must be "paid for" if positive.... so who paid for all the earlier negative reviews? By the same magazines, oftimes.

Ah yes, it can't be an independent review if it's positive, right?

its a bit too much of a coincidence, that PGI releases Newmech lab on the same day they added the new trailer... its almost like they anticipated a bunch of review sites will write about the new UI and also use the new trailer.. many many happy coincidences
(Not saying there is anything wrong with that, the game needs publicity and PGI has done a good job to do so when its the strongest the game has looked in a long while)

That just means the game was indeed in a bad state, with no amount of makeover can cover its ugly side. Also, people love reading scalding reviews for the burn factor.

Things I would like to see worked on:
- Communtiy Warfare as a whole needs to be worked on from general game play as well as still getting a competitive match.
- Balancing of the mech (new and some old), for every change there is and always will be a need to rebalance. But I do like how they take it more limited changes than their previous jumps.
- New features; as those who have been around games or in the gaming industry new things do keep attention to a title (I really want hatchetman with a useable hatchet).
I am sure there are other things that could be thrown in there to either expand or narrow the field but in either case I hope PGI keeps it going and continues to work hard.

Depends..If its indepedant like NGNG where 2 of them take money..and the rest are kinda like "ummm"
or is it actually independant and their review is based on the game...not the free ****/funds they got for reviewing it

That said, it could also be that they're simply covering a game they've already reviewed to show it's "improved" after an arguably major quality of life patch came out (though it DOES have its negative sides). The fact a bunch of places cover the same thing all at once is interesting if nothing else, makes you question why at least.

Both the new UI needs work and the planetary drop screens but its going great and runs great. The new trailer is well done and fun to watch also.
Really looking forward to phase III.
