I was watching a stream on Twitch this morning and noticed there was a player in the group they joined that looked familiar. The name was a one-letter variation from a player who was recently banned for cheating. They were still playing with the same players they were affiliated with, so saying this is a different person is highly doubtful.

So what gives? Now we have to worry about blatant alt. accounts of cheaters making a reappearance?

It's a given that some of those caught would form new alts and come back to troll the game - but they lost their cool toys and will start all over again.

If they cheat again, they'll be banned again when caught.

multitude... meh I don't care really. It will be discussed on reddit where they can't bury it.

name-shame really doesn't apply here considering the player was named by PGI themselves, but whatever.

While I guess that's impossible to avoid, Idc if they don't get their "cool toys" back. They should be gone forever. No mercy, no second chances.

Not if they hardware ban, it's done in other games as far as I know.

Makes it more complicated to do though doesnt it. A cheater isnt the kind of person to put much effort into anything.

Furthermore, I don't see how sniffing out the bant would automatically be Name'n Shame …

1 of hundreds doesn't matter. Pgi needs to work to put in anti cheat inside the program. Or invest in a 3rd party program.

They wont cheat again if they did in the first place.

And to be honest I don't ever feel like some player has cheated on me at any time, I can think of a hundred good examples of the system letting me down though.

Hah! Yes because people reform all the time.

Cheaters will always cheat again. It's like a drug.

According to this http://bf4central.co...s-hardware-ban/ it isn't too hard. Only takes one non-lazy cheater to ruin it for the rest of us.

From a quick read of steam's VAC it isn't using haedware to block, just flag.

Meh, well cheating doesnt seem very common in mwo, in fact i've never even suspected it in like 5k drops (strangely, i've outed and reported dozens in other games to PB). Hope the steam release doesnt change that, although people on steam tend not to cheat because of account problems that can become of it.

Is this the guy or not? Looking up pilot accounts seems much harder than it used to be. I want to know account creation date and any forum posts made under that name.

If he doesn't log into the forums you won't find him. A buddy of mine whose account predates mine is unsearchable as he avoids these forums like the plague.
