Is There Anything That Takes Less Skill To Run Than An Er-Large Laser Raven-3L?

I am in love with my RVN-3L. It's one of my best mechs. I use it's ECM to cover the team, but when the enemy team is entrenched (and my team is not getting slaughtered by LRMs) i will run on a flank and shoot their backs as much as i can.
Lots of times i made enemy mechs reposition or waste time shooting the hill I'm hiding behind, giving my team more time to get to a better position or just do damage without having to worry about the Dakka-Whale.
Does it take skill to drive one? I don't know. I don't think I'm a particularly skilled player either.
But sure thing is that the RVN-3L for me is a lot of fun to drive, and quiet a challenge sometimes.

The OP wasn't talking about you.
Move along.

AC20 Jager,
CUAC10 Direwhale
Laservomit Crow and Timby,
ALso,, if you find that ANY of your team are not playing in the style that you prefer them to, then by all means use the Telepathy module that all mechs (apparently) come equipped with,,
What?? Your mechs DON'T come with ESP modules? Then voip.
Talk to your team, no??

This is in regards to the legions of can't aim, hide 1000 meters away lightsabering your ERLLs all over the screen, players out there. Take you ecm and do something useful with it.....like actually support your team, or be part of a wolfpack.
Yes, you can eventually accumulate a few hundred damage, and sometimes even vulture a kill or two, while largely protecting your paintjob. Or, you could L2Aim, and be an actual asset to your team, fighting at closer ranges, where your lasers actually do some damage where your feeble aiming skills might let you at least keep that beam on the enemy mech, and again, yes, put your ECM to a better use than trying to protect your delicate epeen.
It's pretty bad when I vastly prefer you to be on the other team.
The Build itself can actually be a highly effective contributor. It's the Call of Duty, solo Rambo Hero mentality that seems attached to it the majority of time that is a detriment.
/rant,
you may now return to your QQing about the new Mechlab.
In answer to the OP's question "YES" playing a LRM Hunchie takes less skill than a LL Raven.

No....it just seems so easy, with the mobility and quirks they can stay right behind their allies in the nascar and rain pain. I would never play lurms myself. I find them boring.
I built and played my HBK-4J once after the quirks. The thing is a lurm GOD. It hoarks out lurms at the cyclical rate of an AC2.
She does get a bit hot and goes through ammo like it's going out of style so there are things to consider while playing it though. It's not a mech for the brain dead, but it certainly doesn't need the same amount of brain cells to pilot some other mechs do.

They seem quite effective for little risk.

At start, I think any ECM Mech should cover his team until the enemy is engaged then it depends on what your ECM Mech is running. If you have direct fire like LLs, you will either move off to snipe on your own or try to poke the enemy while covering your team but run the risk of FF either way due to all the people who do not pay attention to where players are around them. Thanks to that Generational Individualism Selfishness Factor.

Or you could just run something like I did with my Kit Foxes, the Raven version looks like this. Sit behind allies giving ECM cover while shooting LRMs over their heads at enemies, no FF problems.

Well it might be, there is no hard line. At which point does your contribution become useless, at 200 damage, at 100? The same pilot might also change playing style between matches. The OP is in fact singling out every Raven pilot even if it is not his intention.
No, it's not, but you know the old saying, if you feel they are talking about you, maybe you're feeling guilty because it's hitting closer to home than you care to admit, even to yourself?

go for it. If you actually play in a way that benefits the team, I could care less what you drive.
In honor of continued lack of reading comprehension, I'll keep not giving a crap.

Did you ever think that the guy in the Raven might be new and this is the play style they feel the most comfortable with?
And you think a Raven 3L takes less skill than any of the tier 1 mechs? If I was noob I would head straight for a Dakka Whale. You just need "W" and "Mouse 1" to profit.
Or grab a streak Crow or Maddog, throw on a BAP and profit.
In any case I gave up expecting ECM in the pug queue from using their ECM for support, rather than hunting discos, about 2 years ago. My suggestion is you lower your expectations and focus on your own piloting.
