X-5 is an excellent mech. People were yelling pay2win when they announced that the X-5 would have missile hardpoints lol

I will be running XL300, 14DHS, 4ML, 2SRM4, 3t Ammo, full armor, 133.7kph. Module setup is Target Info Gathering, ML Range 5, SRM4 Cooldown 5, Radar Deprivation. 405m effective ML range and almost Huginn-level SRM4 spam. I will see you guys on the battlefield!

No time this weekend but I looking forwand to take part in the next one...

Welp, I'm one game off of mastering the DRG-1N, so I'll get that out of the way. Then off to the Fang and Flame.

The Leader board...meh. I don't really try for that any more. Takes too much time. I can usually get myself up to the middle or higher on the board, and then the next day I'm back off the board. Rinse and repeat. And the prizes aren't usually worth playing all weekend for....assuming I have the time. If I were to do it, it would be for bragging rights.

The prizes in most of the normal events are also usually only worth a few real dollars. But I do like getting the achievements in my profile. And those rare unique cockpit items. But as the leader boards don't usually give these...meh. I'm in this event for the money. Still have a few IS mechs to buy to get some of my remaining Heroes leveled up.

Should be fun playing against this bunch of hero mechs. You don't usually see many of them.

So tempted to break out the Oxide. Used to rip it up in that before I discovered the Hugin. Well...rip it up until the ammo runs out. But then the game changes to find enemies that are peeking and shooting, then stand behind them when they try to back into cover and hold them there while your team blows the crap out of them. Hey...gotta be useful somehow.

But na, it'll be all Fang and Flame for me this weekend. ...at least until they are mastered...then we'll see.

I'm still going to play a bit, this weekend, but yeah I'm disappointed in two things:

1. I can't use the only Hero I have, the Hellslinger, and

2. We're not looking at a poll to see which 'Mech presently without a Hero will get a Hero.

I have 4 or 5 Hero Mechs... none are on the list... makes me mad.
...and I don't have $$$ to spend on a Mech I really don't want right now.
So... What to do, what to do.
I know... I will make my own goal this week end.

Glad to see some love for the oldies but goodies but;

1. You should have included all Hero mechs in the 50% bonus for the event. That way they are not left out and others under the "Hero" hood will get some use if not owned. (future events including them understood, non-withstanding for this)

2. The rewards should have included a base for all people playing as already set in past tourneys for better inclusion, and encourage non-hero owners to play.

3. The reward set should also have a layered effect for multi-hero owners for each one used in the tourney, to encourage spreading use and not just using a fav.

4. And finally, let's start seeing some unique-created banner standing items given to all who participate in this event, and future ones like it, as a memento.

Why do all this, people LIKE getting stuff!! Mostly, doesn't matter size or worth, but that it is unique to the event and not copied later... (aka "Operation 24" medal) That just degrades the worth tremendously. Alright, I'm stopping here as this is turning into a rant.

I think people are missing a key phrase here "Some of the Original Hero Mechs". Key word "Some" not "All". Look! Another key word "Original". Not "Later added to the line up" of Hero mechs like the Grid Iron or St. Ives. Original line up.

So I shall whip out my Yen Lo Wang and Pretty Baby, dust off the dust off, and prepare to crack some mechs open.
