Have anybody experiment with the graphics settings that are most effective in reducing CPU load?

I'm no expert but I got most of these settings from one, in another thread - can't remember where it was though, sorry.

I get more or less decent FPS (60-ish on average) with this, sometimes it drops hard (45-ish, sometimes less), although lately that happens less.
My rig is an i5-3550 @3.3GHz with a GTX 770, so quite strong graphically but a fairly old and slow CPU.
Edit: I also have these settings active in my user.cfg file (located in Mechwarrior Online directory):
gp_option_ShowCockpitGlass=0
r_DepthOfField=0
r_HDRGrainAmount=0.0
I have no idea if these particular settings make any difference to CPU load, though. Also with the latest client changes, user.cfg may not actually affect the game anymore.

the problem is with you.
i just check it, and it's all normal 23% for MWO

Suggest you learn a little about computers before trow around nonsense.
if you don't know anything about software or computers, no problem.
sugest you install something called advanced system care and disable any type of anti/spyware scanners before launching any game they are not needed when you are not surfing.

Nope, When I went looking at joining a team there was typically one or two guys just like the above. I stay solo for good reason.
Not all teams are a bunch of twats.
Now as to OP,
We need more information like what CPU you have system RAM, GPU, etc.

I ran with a nice bunch of guys before but they all left. They are out there though. You did luck out.

The general method to eke best graphics + best performance is:

Start with everything in Advanced at LOW or OFF.
The most important one to have set 'LOW' is the Environment setting.
This is the single biggest resource drain.
After that, you can attempt raising Object Detail and Texturing to MEDIUM and see how it affects performance.
From there it's just tweaking the settings, raising each option Advanced Option one at a time to a point you still get a reasonably consistent 25-35FPS+ with the best graphics you can.
I would say improve Environment only after most settings are at MEDIUM, and Object Detail and Texturing are set to HIGH.

I upgraded my GPU to a 970, a card with more than double the processing power of the previous card. I experienced zero performance gains.
I have now also replaced my CPU with a 4790k, which has increased my FPS max to 70, but it still frequently dips to 30-45 on many maps. Meanwhile I'm running Witcher 3 on Ultra with a stable 45+ FPS
The game is far from optimized and needs lots of work

You can just turn on vsync too but MWO's performance really tanks with it.
EDIT: Oh, I also set max pre-rendered frames to 1 to lower cpu workload a bit.
Oh, I'm not sure because it depends on the engine, but shadows might be rendered by the cpu in mwo, its cryengine right? If it is then the gpu renders them and reducing wotn lower cpu load, worth testing probably.

PGI have specifically not only stated that the game is broadly CPU limited but have also specifically recommended which graphics setting to adjust if you find yourself in that situation:
Environment, Object Detail and Shadows to low or medium
