If you wan to stop cheaters you have to alert the teammates running with them they will be on notice. They had enough on the first batch to do so. Just check the logs and see who was dropping with them regularly and ban them too.
Pretty soon teams would not tolerate that behavior because in the end they would get no benefit from it. Right now the teammates could care less because they only benefit from it. There is no downside there. 66AH should have ceased to exist that day. Any team forward should too.
You're talking about punishing a group of people that may not know a thing about it, potentially banning dozens of people who had nothing to do with a thing.
If you're cheating, especially at a comp level, you just wouldn't tell anyone.
It's a poorly thought out, heavy handed and pointless way of doing it, and I sincerely hope with that attitude, you don't gain a position of moderation or power, you just don't have the temperament for it.

I don't know what PGI has to do with what i said. I used an outside of the game, real world example(that most would agree with) to tell everyone how i would/will react to this particular matter if i was to face it irl. Same action would be taken by the vast majority, most people don't want to assossiate with cheaters do i even have to mention that? PGI has no say in what happens in the real world. You should then be able to extrapolate that it should happen in the gaming world too hence this thread and the number of post pro cheaters versus anti cheaters. For all i know you guys got hurt by a cheaters(i am very sorry for that do believe me i would hate to be put in that situatiuon) and either live in denial or try as best as possible to lower the damage implication with "he's reformed now" statement.

No, it would only allow you to see where they are, but the game mechanics would prevent you from being able to lock the targets.
It would still give you a quicker reaction though as you could see where they are going to pop up and already have the cursor in the area for quicker lock time even without the lock..a quicker acquisition time ,actually much quicker as soon as part of their mech shows above the skyline the locking starts

There is even the possibility of extortionist method from companies wanting to get money to have their anti hack used in a game or even hackers from the competition. Anyones guess if this is involved with this game or not or if its a bad problem in the industry.
This is why I am on the fence about letting cheats make new accounts and a fresh start. If a player does cheat even once more then they shouldnt be allowed to play again, even with a new account.

No its not. You guys claim to be the experts of MWO here on the forums but your telling me its hard to know when someone is cheating on your own team?
It's easier than when your on the other team.
I don't buy for a minute that those guys who dropped regular on 66ah didn't have a clue. They knew. They benefited.

Case in point, caught my fiancé cheating while I was at Ft. Lewis for four weeks (she took pictures and left them on her laptop). I dumped her. Then she got engaged to a friend (an idiot one) who caught her cheating with her personal trainer. Her personal trainer proposed and then left her because she was cheating on him with her kickboxing instructor. Now she's engaged to her kickboxing instructor. We have a pool going between our mutual friends on whether she's going to cheat again.
oh, i feel sorry for you
it's a different thing though
albeit it's the same word 'cheat' used, cheating in relationships it's a kind of disloyalty i.e. a betrayal while cheating in a game it's just getting an unfair advantage over your enemies, it's completely another thing imo

Unless you're directly observing the 'scan lock' taking place, know enough about hack tools to know to look for it, it's probable you may not even notice.
They may have unwittingly benefited, but that just means they were ignorant of what was going on. Absolutely in CW all it takes is ONE person using the wall hack portion, not even the aim bot, to completely through the entire match into question.
If the DC is using the wall hack, he'll know where the enemy is and have a pretty good approximation as to what the enemy is planning and can direct the rest of the team to counter it, making it damned difficult for the enemy to 'surprise' you. HOWEVER, from their own side it just looks like the guy is a really good drop commander with a great mind for tactics and strategy, they just can't "know" for sure.
That's what sucks about it, everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE comes under suspicion. You, me, your best friend whom you'd trust with your kid's lives, anyone COULD be hacking and unless they're very blatant about it (or stupid like the last 64 to get banned, by not updating their hack software), may never get caught.

Hackers prolly are the ones Quad Gauss Head shotting your Dire Whale from 2750m, while your face is staring into a 200 foot high, 800 foot wide mountain, making it impossible t o be head shot, leaving you wondering, where in the holy hell did that come from?

Thats exactly how a rage hacker operates. They dont last long. They dont even try to hide the fact. The problem hackers are the closet hackers that run them only some of the matches or to secure wins etc.

Unfortunately HSR can cause that "hit through solid objects" feel of the game especially if you or or target, or god forbid BOTH, have high ping and latency issues.
I've died from shots that looked like they missed me on my screen, from as long as 2 seconds ago (I know this because I got into cover just as a shot was fired, and almost two seconds later k'tang BOOM, SO AND SO HAS KILLED DIMENTO, no way he could have double backed or ran completely around in that amount of time).

my memory before de jj nerf is filled with Victor and Highlangers with a dash of Shadowhawk, i have little space for any other memory about jj before that. I did play the 5V recently, it's still stupid how high and fast you can go on it.

if a cheater is willing to spend ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS A MONTH for a cheating tool, IMO, they will not give a flying **** about losing 400 dollars worth of mech packs. When they come back, they will just spend "a months worth" of cheater tool money to buy a new mech pack.
As for all the "thats not how cheats work" experts here, here are some things I have pewrsonally seen in this game, starting with this past weekend!
Forest Colony, saw a "Pretty baby" score 6 kills, 6 assists, 900+ dmg. WOW, such skillz, very pew pew!! EXCEPT, I saw him fire 6 lasers at once. One from each arm, one from each ST, CT, head. I saw him do it twice, into a Mad Dog team mate of mine, killing the maddog. mere seconds later I was done in by his team mate, a few seconds later the match ended with a loss for my team. How is that poosible hacker experts? How did this guy fire 6 lasers from a PB? did they apply omnipod code to the awesome somehow? Who knows, I don't, i am not a hacker expert.
HPG manifold, I am in my 48 point alpha laser stalker. 3 LPL, 3 ML. Not a 4N, I think it is one of the 5 ones, doesnt matter. I am on the top platform. its about 2/3 through the match, i got another team mate up there with me, and a couple down the side of the "top" along the wall. PB guy jogs up the ramp right in front of me. I alpha his RT. he doesnt try to twist, he is already looking right at me. He doesnt even fire, no, he comes to a complete stop, about 50M rigt in front of me, and starts to chainfire his 3 lasers. I alpha his RT again. then I twist around a bit to spread, alpha a 3rd time. As I am twisting, thinking "WTF is this" as my mech is now starting to get into a bad way, I look up, alpha a 4th time. I never got his armor past yellow. by that time I was heat capped out and my mech was falling to pieces, and he got me. Turns to his left, moves away, I hit spectate. he does the same thing to my smaller team mate on the ramp to the side. Eats more dmg, never breeches armor, kills my mate. both times, just trots over, stops, and chainfires till submission. How is that possible cheater experts? I sure as hell don;t know, I am not a cheater expert.
Tourmaline. Watch an Adder tank 2 assaults, a heavy, and a medium worth of alpha strikes while he killed one of the assaults. Again, just moved into the crowd and stopped. End of match he was still alive.
Had another Adder on tourmaline while I was in my TDK. i was moving at full tilt 171kph, about 100M in front of this guy, perpendicular to where he was sitting. I was looking right at him, shooting him in the face. he alphas me with 4 ERML, and cores me in one shot, THROUGH MY BACK. Perfect, all dmg in my rear CT, which was facing away. Guy tracked my 171 kph TDK, perfectly, with ERML as I blazed across his screen at full speed, and got me through an area that was facing away from him. Such skillz, very amaze.
bout 8 months ago, tourmaline. Catapult, near end of round, was a K2. he came over a ridge and blasted a team mate, me, team mate, and another team mate all start in on him. he is eating it bad, has no chance but it was near end of match so eh. His CT is now cherry red internals. Suddenly, BRAND NEW ARMOR on his still red internals CT. Fires once more, then turns to go back over hill. Rear armor takes a pounding, then magically renews itself also, then fades agian and a final shot finishes his Ct off. Guys armor magically renewed, twice. How does it work cheater experts? I sure the hell dont know, i am not a cheating expert.
When you play, daily, in puglandia, and see all the shinanigans people pull off, you just know when something REALLY FUCKY happens. People that think there are "just not enough loopholes" in MWO to allow this kind of stuff, you really are naive. While it makes no sense to a normal person to expend such offort and recources to make those kind of substantial hacks into a stupid FTP game, some place out there, some one DOES think it makes sense. They might even pay 100 dollars a month to do it.
