Lessons Learned For The Aws-Pb From The Tournament

Hell, give it a single missile AND single energy ct kind of like the 9M, but it really does lack in firepower. Its weapons fire pretty quickly, but it doesn't put out crap for damage past 297 meters(srm range with lvl5 module). It can put out the damage as a striker at med laser/lpl ranges but it is out damaged by medium mechs. The ability to carry one more weapon, just one would make all the difference in the world, but for some reason, its the only Awsome with 6 weapon points and not 7. Its a mech that can't figure out what the heck it wants to be. A generalist mech with no ballistic hard points. Its a very situation based mech.
Thoughts on this from other AWS-PB players this weekend?

Yeah, its one build or variation thereof I tried and was frustrated. SRM range can be rewarding as hell, or just hell itself as you wait for a target to get into range and take max range/min damage burst with your lasers. It can be infuriating. If it had one more energy point, even in the CT, with the quirks it has, it would be amazing. But, its supposed to be a good LL mech, its ok. But simply putting the quirks of a light mech on an assault doesn't change the fact that this thing has terrible hardpoint location, number or number of missile tubes. Even though LRMs on the thing can be pretty interesting.
I would still love to see an extra hardpoint or two added to make up for its pathetic firepower.

Shorter recycles on lighter armed mechs like the PB just means that they have to expose themselves more to match the damage output of more heavily armed beasts like... well, anything other than the PB.
The hulking silhouette of the Awesome is just begging to be punched in the face. Exposure is bad.
The PB needs more alpha, not more DPS.
While there are pilots i'm sure are able to squeeze effectiveness out of it, I find it to be a very sub par machine.

80% SRM4 cooldown reduction!
Then PGI forgets to add 17% and we end up with 3% cooldown SRM4s.
Those which recycle at the MG RoF.
That would be frightening.

Still, it'd be the equivalent of a morbidly obese cheeseburger swilling redneck on a mobility scooter chasing you down with a baseball bat.
I'd love it though. The Awesome was AWESOME to brawl with back in CB - a better honey badger would be ace.
EDIT:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, IMAGE SEARCH FTW!

It needs another weapon hardpoint... regardless.
Just even doubling up any weapon hardpoint is enough...

LRM 15, 2 LL, 1 mL, 2 srm4, artemis, beagle, xl 380, ams
no problems, great mech, Requires a playstyle all its own but once you get rollin in it it's a force
1 more energy somewhere would be nice I guess but I was rockin pretty hard (mostly) in this thing in the small amount of time I got to play during the tournament

I would still love them to just change the hardpoints to something more interesting period.

LPLs instead of LLs because I don't care for the quirks.
58 Alpha with smurphy dps at 5
Still it desperately needs a rework, adding larger tubes on the arm would help and adding another Missile or Energy point would help too.

It definitely takes some finese and got positioning to make use of it's DPS.

I agree it desperately needs another hardpoint. Preferably that would be a balistic in the right arm and they should move the energy to CT.
That way it would be like a biger Yen-Lo, which would be interesting. The balistic slot should definetly be able to carry AC20.
But either with another CT energy hp, the mech would be way better than it currently is.

Just as an FYI, PGI will do a one time refund on any MC purchased hero mech. For a PB, that would be a lot of MC to have back in your virtual wallet.

Is that so? I'd consider that really seriously!

I can settle for great (ER)PPC cooldown and heat quirks. Then my 2x(ER)PPC/3xSSRM2 Mystery Babe can once again be the ECM hunter-killer it used to be.
