I Get That The Cauldron Born Is Expected To Be Our New Meta-Overlord, But Seriously No Excitement Over The Executioner?

It's 26.5 stock; missing ~1.5 tons of armour.

Efficient max armour is 25 tons of pod space.

Adequate for decent loadouts, but for a 95 ton mech it's lacking.

It can pack decent brawling loadouts, or typical laservomit.

As usual, I find myself thinking about the same thing. Sure, it might be about a half a step up from the terribad Gargles, but when the Gargles set the bar so low a world-class limbo champion couldn't squeeze under it with a bucket of grease and shoe horn that's not saying a whole hell of a lot.

I am definitely uninspired by the Executioner. I'm reasonably sure the only things it's going to be executing are sucking and dying. I could be wrong, but on paper its chances don't look good to me.

that's a fair bit of CT Real Estate to chew on.

Course, could be a whole lotta legging going on, too, lol.

I think it would probably be a little smaller than that..

Not terribly exited about the executioner, because I didn't order an executioner. My top tier was the cauldronborn, for pricing reasons.

I'm mainly hyped about the cauldronborn because it's both sexy and brings back memories of MW3. The executioner, I think I only ever saw briefly in MW4 mercs, and so have no sentimental attachment to. Even without history factored in, it's big, ugly, and expensive enough that I'll never be able to touch it for c-bills, so it won't really matter what it's like because I'll never get to use it.

Yeah, thats my main worry for the Exe to be honest, along with the backpack that the concept art has, no image of the model has shown us how huge (or not) it is.

The other really fugging annoying thing is the giant shield arm is the arm you dont want to be losing because its the one with the crazytown 7E hardpoints (and the good torso HPs are also right side). The side i WANT to use as a shield.. doesn't have a shield.

My verdict is it will be vastly better than the Gargoyle, but still not on the same level as a Banshee, not even close.

Not even a 89 kph Wubicutioner?

I wonder how much they'll nerf that 7E right arm pod when it comes out for cbills.

not high mounted lazy peektart friendly, so probably not too much.

i don't see how it's vastly better than gargoyle when it has the same speed as gargoyle being under masc (and way slower without it) and basically the same nova/gargoyle wub assassin build as probably its most viable one

The cBorn is one of my favourite mechs, and I will have fun with it whether it is "meta" or not.

The executioner... I'll wait to pass down judgement on it. It could be fun. I doubt it will suck, it just may not stand among the clan omnimech pantheon we seem to be building (im talking about scarecrows, timbergods, bringers, etc.) Not that I particularly care if it does or not.

It certainly wont suck the way the gargoyle sucks. It's got enough tonnage for you to do SOMETHING with it, and MASC may be a gamechanger.

5 tons means it can actually take a ballistic weapon, ammo, and something that's not Small Lasers.

It also has the armour, but scale and quirks offset that. 5 tons of pod space is big at that 20 to 25 ton gap. Mr Gargles also has to strip armour to get 20.

Most 95 tonners can't go 90 and Jump.....er...hover though. I think a lot of it's success will be how badly they let the Huge profile nerf it.

Just saw the video showing it's size....side view you got a lot of torso showing....those STs...are looking mighty ripe for the shooting!

18 tons hardwired equipment. Almost as much as the pod space.

Mr Gargles needs Endo.

Both mechs are in the same boat in this case; but Mr Gargles can easily fit Endo+Ferro. This one could use the swap, but E+FF might prove too much with all the hardwired stuff.

Eh, Executioner will have to live or die by it's mobility because of that. Summoner and Gargles are the poster children of being repressed by having no Endo for the Poor.

The Executioner is a bad mech in battletech and I expect it to perform similarly here. Not quite as bad as the Gargoyle, but comparatively awful.

It's a niche mech currently and I'll still end up running a Stormcrow when poop hits the fan.

Still trying to rework the Nova a bit though.

I've been bullish (think they look usable) on them since they were announced. I doubt they will be crazy meta. But I think it'll have it's uses (imagine a full lance of these). My only real concerns are the hoverjets (8t is a huge investment) and the really low arm hardpoints.
