If you think there is a mech that sucks that REALLY SUCKS I will go buy it and I will play and and kick ass with it. Cause I don't need quirks to be good.
This was mostly brought on by some people talking about the dragon how it was ****... then there is some version that has quirks and gives it 4 free ac5's and everyone starts bitching about it.. Then some smart players say it's all in the arm lose the arm it's h..... armless..... Get it.... LOL I have np with quirks I don't even look at them when I do my weapon loadout.
I don't do lights though... just not my play style.

Its okay as long as you REALLY make up for it with the extra 10 tons somewhere else

Some of the mediocre mechs can be lethal in the right hands, but for the effort involved to make them perform at a level to justify their use is moot when there are alot more and alot better alternatives that can do it better, faster at the same or lighter tonnage.

I prefer to go severely undertonned for one role so I can bring a fat assault. For example my Cicada 3C sniper can hit well above it's own weight making it functionally a much heavier medium sniper, so if everything else is performing as it should it's like I brought an extra 15 tons with me.

bad mechs do exist.
A good player can do a great game in a Catapult.
Put the same player in a Thunderbolt and watch him destroy the enemy team with the same amount of effort.

just because you you refuse to accept the truth doesn't mean the truth doesn't exist. yes, you may be able to play well in an awesome, but you are still detrimenting your team by denying them a mech that can do the job better. you can play that awesome well, but you could do the same job 10x better in a stalker.. which mean you are purposely not putting forth your best effort to win. some can see it as griefing.. and it some games you can be banned for it. lucky for you MWO isn't one of those games. the most competitive players tend to do anything they can to win and if their stats were public you would instantly know who those players are.
well i don't know any game where you can be banned for picking a mech/tank/champion/whatever, at least for picking it for its appropriate role
it's a some funny idea to make it just to ban those pick it in the game, lol

Yep, this.
Or, choke your way through the crap sandwich that is the Awesome.
In the pantheon of the Mech gods, the Awesomes are poor saps cleaning the vomit from the floor after all the TimberWolves and StormCrows finish partying.

see its this ******** mentality that drives people away from the so called "comp" teams. If you have any knowledge of the history of MECHWARRIOR, not just battletech, you will know the problem of "power creep" this is a FLAW that is sought to be removed with this game, they did not put several hundred mechs in the game for you to be a ******* scrub and use 4. I agree with the OP its the pilot not the mech. Having owned all the Clan mechs and many of the so called "meta" mechs, and a great portion of the Inner sphere arsenal I can say for sure that its far more effective to run what I want built how I like it.
