Oh, I see in Smurfy's they do .70dps now, nice :3 That's right up there with a machine gun, without the need for ammo.... Hello Flamesecutioner! lol. Well, I might slip a few onto my Arctic cheetah and see how it goes. Thanks for the insight n.n
LoL. Yeah they aren't any primary weapon that's for sure but they NEVER were intended to be. TT or any other incarnation of the game. These people that want the 'by the books' TT ability of 'stun lock' in this game are just silly. Obviously none ever played in, or ran, a FASA sanctioned TT tourny because after the first they quickly threw in a rule for sanctioned tournaments: No heat can be applied to a mech while it is shut down. Wahlah no stun lock.
Also as someone else pointed out you had to choose: Do I have my flamers do heat or damage this round? Not so in MWO as flamers do both.
I would really like to see infernos be added to the game though. Only if they could do it so the flames from the inferno are only on the section hit by it (they had narc setup so that it took damage and was knocked off at one time ... was this based on the location the narc landed on?). Can you imagine the blinding from an inferno that hit your leg + a flamer if they didn't have put in that stipulation as well? Admittedly being on the dealing end would be awesome but honestly a bit too OP. Now if a person was good enough with their inferno, or lucky enough, to hit the head then sure there should be flames covering their view but maybe not as blinding as an actual flamer seeing as inferno flames would be like any other fuel flame and not a jet in your face
I could see some very minor tweaks to flamers but i don't think they are needed at all: return them to spread damage, up the max they heat an enemy mech up (I think it's at 90% right now but it should be closer to 97% not enough to shut down but just enough that if they aren't running at least one low heat or no heat weapon that they will have to use a coolshot or get some help to fire, heck maybe add in the mechanic that no heat is applied to a shutdown mech and the nearly over heated mech just powers down for a couple of seconds but I think it's already pretty much that way), slow down the progression of heating up the one using them by about 1/3 (that is keep it at about 2/3 progression of what it is now maybe 3/4). That's about it but as I said even these aren't needed. Main thing is people need to stop trying to get a secondary weapon to be a primary.
