Actually there's 5 LTD modules, gold owners also got a radar dep LTD as a bonus. Have my on and always on my Dire(G)

@PGI ...

I loved this patch until I read this...

Then I was like, "WTF PGI! Radar Deprivations are expensive and now I can't use one of mine on IS mechs?!" Why do you do random things like this when you otherwise are doing so much good. It's like rescuing a 3-legged dog from a fire and the punching a child in the face.

/sigh

Don't worry there, this little thing affects a max of 5 modules which were acquired from wave 1 packs. The special thing about the LTD modules was you could use something without unlocking it via pilot skills. As I understand this part of the notes you have nothing to worry about if you unlocked and payed for them.

Btw I too am confused why they did this

Well, glad someone keeps track of all these events to compare. Given the data you are using, we should wait for the next two Hero events to see what happens with them. Really, how will the Emeber board look?

While the data set does have it's flaws, I'm really looking forward to seeing how these things continue to stack up, and I really hope that PGI doesn't change the scoring criteria (which would mean that comparisons are even less valid).

I hope they also do Clan Invasion leader boards.

Misty also has the option to equip ECM (solo & team benefit depending on how it is used) and longer range lasers.

The COM-2D can run ECM also, which is why I didn't list it as a difference.

One more reason I'm anxious to have a much more complete data set is to see how much of a difference tonnage makes, compared to other factors. The trend right now is that a 5 ton increase in tonnage is between 1% and 2% increase in average score. Most are pretty close to that "about average" trend, but some mechs break that trend significantly, and those are the ones that need attention.

Why no mention of the ECM Griffin? They are supposed to be available for C-bills tomorrow. Strange not to mention that.

Given that you seem to know that they are available tomorrow, they must have mentioned it in the recent past right? How many times should they need to repeat themselves? Besides, why start those inevitable ECM WHINE threads today, when surely everyone can wait for them until tomorrow. LOL!

Whoa MASC for all mechs is an option in the future judging by this, nice addition.

So when does the Ebon Jag get nerfed in to the ground, there's no way you let something that powerful out of the cage without some justified complaint threads.

I've been using them for years. When they got the range increased and damage added back to them I about freaked. They inflict both damage and heat. I've even got a video here on the forums proving just that as well as showing one of the easiest no brains way to use flamers so they don't blow yourself up as well. I would hope you've heard of the two flamers of chain fire trick by now? Yeah i taught people that trick. I don't use it much because I don't need to but I have at least one mech that I use it on.

All I can say as far as your not being able to use them to effect is keep trying. Not everything is always obvious. :P If you really want some pointers on how to use them I'd be glad to help you out any time. Seriously though simply search my name in the forums and you should be able to find at least one of my videos.

*EDIT: Oh and btw only 4 or 6 at a time have any effect. More than that only adds more heat to yourself. I forget which it is (4 or 6) as I never use more than two on a mech unless I'm just being silly.*

Oh, I see in Smurfy's they do .70dps now, nice :3 That's right up there with a machine gun, without the need for ammo.... Hello Flamesecutioner! lol. Well, I might slip a few onto my Arctic cheetah and see how it goes. Thanks for the insight n.n

No. That is NOT the case. Only specific variants of specific mechs will have it. Like ECM or JJs.

Does this mean the Advanced Narc I bought to cBills wont work on my Raven anymore?
Or does it only apply to a special version of the modules gifted in the pack?

Correct. We whales received a Radar Deprivation - LTD for our gluttonous support of this game and now @PGI is kicking us in the balls. Thanks PGI!

LoL. Yeah they aren't any primary weapon that's for sure but they NEVER were intended to be. TT or any other incarnation of the game. These people that want the 'by the books' TT ability of 'stun lock' in this game are just silly. Obviously none ever played in, or ran, a FASA sanctioned TT tourny because after the first they quickly threw in a rule for sanctioned tournaments: No heat can be applied to a mech while it is shut down. Wahlah no stun lock.

Also as someone else pointed out you had to choose: Do I have my flamers do heat or damage this round? Not so in MWO as flamers do both.

I would really like to see infernos be added to the game though. Only if they could do it so the flames from the inferno are only on the section hit by it (they had narc setup so that it took damage and was knocked off at one time ... was this based on the location the narc landed on?). Can you imagine the blinding from an inferno that hit your leg + a flamer if they didn't have put in that stipulation as well? Admittedly being on the dealing end would be awesome but honestly a bit too OP. Now if a person was good enough with their inferno, or lucky enough, to hit the head then sure there should be flames covering their view but maybe not as blinding as an actual flamer seeing as inferno flames would be like any other fuel flame and not a jet in your face :P

I could see some very minor tweaks to flamers but i don't think they are needed at all: return them to spread damage, up the max they heat an enemy mech up (I think it's at 90% right now but it should be closer to 97% not enough to shut down but just enough that if they aren't running at least one low heat or no heat weapon that they will have to use a coolshot or get some help to fire, heck maybe add in the mechanic that no heat is applied to a shutdown mech and the nearly over heated mech just powers down for a couple of seconds but I think it's already pretty much that way), slow down the progression of heating up the one using them by about 1/3 (that is keep it at about 2/3 progression of what it is now maybe 3/4). That's about it but as I said even these aren't needed. Main thing is people need to stop trying to get a secondary weapon to be a primary.

I am not being sarcastic in any way when I ask how they are at all useful? In what way do they work wonderfully?

I even tried boating 12 of them on a Nova for giggles... Still couldn't overheat a laserboat XD And I've been against Adders with just a flamer, firing away with my energy weapons with seemingly no extra heat.

To the best of my knowledge, flamers don't inflict any direct damage, and I'm not sure if they even inflict heat...

So, if they are useful in any way, please enlighten me :3

Other than 30m in range the Flamer has Crit potential same as the MG. It is when you use it that counts, just like the lowly MG... Specs are noted below for interest sake.

Sadly my oscillating fan cockpit item won't keep me cool when I run that thing. Might need to tweak it slightly...

@Twilight Fenrir - but with omnipods, once you have them all you only need one chassis to build everything you want, or am I missing something?
