Not assaults only i was caught badly with 2-3 lights on river city and they was bouncing and stopping on those, highly annoying tbh.
At first i tought it was some HSR issues (2k ping player) but seems PGi added something extra with this patch.

Is this a step towards the "destructible terrain" they've been talking about in conjunction with the remake of the maps?
Only they haven't added in the actual destruction, so most likely someone forgot to disable collisions for the lamp posts when the patch was baked from the dev environment.
If so, it should be a pretty straight-forward fix and a hot-patch to remove it again.

Of course there's a whole new River City in the bullpen... If this map is broke, it's getting replaced.

I just got stuck on a lamp post and got instantly obliterated by 2 approaching mechs.

I imagine in might be some leftover artefact from that destructible terrain thing they're playing around with atm...

When did it come out, 2015? 2005? Oh wait that's right, 1999.

I'd be fine with them leaving it out of rotation myself, especially since we should be getting the updated River City map soon, what say you all?

I literally just played it, so I don't think it's out of rotation. I would be happy if it got taken out completely. It's sole purpose for existing is so that PGI can showcase night vision. HDR blindness from lasers and missiles is also annoying.
I'd be happy with Alpine Peaks being removed from rotation besides maybe conquest queue but that's a different discussion.

MW3 also had significantly more simple terrains and was more or less developed ground up for the game, whereas MWO is developed using a not-so-great engine not designed for such scales which is highly frustrating to use.
Please stop using the whole 'it had it back then' argument, it's not that simple.

It seems to me like there were at least a couple of options they could have gone with but they went with CE for some reason.
