Battletech Movie / Michael Bay

If Hollywood is so worried about profit then why are they just flinging money at people to make whatever reboot and remake they want to? Michael Bay could take a fraction of his rainy day fund money and commission/direct (shudders) a Mechwarrior film. If that were to happen, then we would have to worry about the cast, acting, and storyline as to make a good impression with the newer generation especially because they are what is going to bring the franchise back. Thoughts?

OMG... I've been married to my wife tor 22+ years... after Robot Jox was our second date. I have a Robot Jox DVD now. Can't actually bring myself to watch it, but do look at the box and think fondly of courting the Mrs.
So, um, yeah, I'd go see any MW/BT movie that comes out. Will always be better than RJ.

George Lucas. Michael Bay. Electronic Arts.
Bring You
Battle Tech: The Movie. Complete with stunted acting. Over the top bad CGI. Giant mech balls. And an option to pay for additional footage. Both before and after the directors cut, the extended edition directors cut, the cut where the Atlas shot first, the edition where the mechs are actually veritechs, the harmony gold extended court room scene cut, the extra special edition cut where a horde of annoying side characters and children power up the dire wolf and kill the drop ship scene.

Keep holding your breath. Shouldn't be long now.
Edit: Robotech, not Battletech.

In my opinion, there is only ONE man with enough devotion to a project that could take on such an epic franchise.
Its NOT MIchael Bay..
Its His Majesty... Peter Jackson.
Granted, he has never done sci-if, but he has the devotion, the drive, and the know-how of big projects, so I think he would do a great job.
The movie should be a trillogy featuring the First the fall of the SLDF, Amaris rebellion, the deaths of the Camerons, and the first exodus. The second movie should feature the expolits of the Wolf's Dragoons, their coming to the inner sphere, and preparations for the clan invasion. The third movie should feature the Clan Invasion, including the battle of Tukayyid, and the War of Refusal, and end in the anihilation of the Smoke Jaguars.
If you want to make it not about galactic events, but about "that one hero", simply follow the exploits of the Wolf's Dragoons and Jamie and Joshua Wolf.

Between the inital clan invasion, and The Great Refusal there are somthing like 10 books, there's no way you could cover it all in one move, or even 3. I think you'd need HBO to give it the GoT treatment to do it justice.

Or Adian Pryde, the Legend of the Jade Phoenix does the staring hero think very well.
