Good all around TBR-C build. Able to engage the enemy at any range. Low heat. Just enough ammo to last a prolonged round. Deceptively tame build, but extremely effective in-game.

2x LRM10 w/ 4 tons ammo
2x erMedLas
1x Gauss rifle w/ 3 tons of ammo
2x additional double heatsinks

TBR-C Balanced Build

It's a mid range fighter where the mech excels at. You can down grade the computer if you need more ammo.
Very user friendly as well

TBR-C(C)

Some of the more hardcore fans will recognize this build as the TBR-PRYDE configuration, piloted by the famous Star Colonel Aidan Pryde (look him up, he's got a VERY cool story that ties into the Battle of Tukayyid).

Armament:

LA: C-ER Large Laser, C-ER Medium Laser

RA: C-ER Large Laser, C-ER Medium Laser, Clan Double Heat Sink

LT: C-LRM 20, C-LRM Ammo, 2x Jump Jets - Class III

RT: C-LRM 20, C-LRM Ammo, 2x Jump Jets - Class III

CT: C-ER Small Laser

Armament is quite similar to the Prime configuration, but it swaps out the auxiliary weapons in the torso for jump jets & a backup ER Small Laser. The loadout is geared primarily towards mid to long range, and the addition of four jump jets give it enough maneuverability to avoid disadvantageous confrontations.

On a break atm so I probably won't be able to respond

But here is a good build with a little bit of everything for any pilot

well... you could say, that this Timber has got way too less weapons, but I love this build because you can throw PPCs like a Thunderbolt and the projektiles are as fast as a Gauss.
Simple and easy.

Here's a simple, yet effective TBR-C build, based off a similar one I've used on a TBR-PRIME.
It has the power of twin ER PPCs and a long-range LB 5-X, while two SRM-6 launchers handle close range.

TBR-PRIME

My Timerwolf loadout is 2x Ultra AC/10, 4x ER-Medium Lasers, 1x Machine Gun, 4x Jumpjets Class III, 2x Machine Gun 1/2 ammo, 2x UAC/10 Ammo. The timberwolf I smurfed up doesn't have so good armor but its great for 89.1 KPH hit and hard punch (somewhat like a fast brawling mech.)
Variant: Timberwolf TBR-PRIME
New Variant: Timberwolf TBR-PRIME(C)

TBR-A (GLOW WOLF) - Assuming a champion variant would have the limitations of the regular variants removed/reduced; this variant would stand to be an example of the maneuverability and laser based firepower the Timber Wolf can bring to bare. If not, this variant would only stand to further be an example to just how horrible the laser duration/cooldown nerfs were to the Timber Wolf.

It's a pretty minimal Timber Wolf, and very easy for a new player to get the hang of. It has jump jets, runs cool and can be safely broken down into two main weapon groups. It's symmetrical and those two weapon groups are placed fairly intuitively as well . You get UACs (which are torso mounted) and lasers (which are arm mounted). It will behave as closely as possible to what someone unfamiliar with MechWarrior will expect.

You also don't have to deal with lock on mechanics, gauss charging, or weapons with significant lead time (e.g., PPCs). As a mid range build it will be effective for the majority of the game (unlike brawlers or snipers) and the UAC/5s make it easier to hit things up close (comparative to long duration lasers) but it's not an alpha centric build (meaning the longer exposure times of most new players wont be utterly wasted).

Compared to a more competitive version of the UAC/5 TBR; I've padded the rear armour more (but not excessively like some), taken out a ML too keep it cooler and left as much armour on as possible over all (only stripping a small amount from the very safe arms). Some more advanced builds of the UAC timber also use an asymmetrical layout for better side peaking which isn't particularly intuitive for new players.

The only real con for this mech as a new player is the UAC/5 jamming, but I'm confident that it's the lesser of many evils when it comes to weapon mechanics.

With the new player (trial mech) in mind,

TBR-C(C)

2x UAC5
4x ER Mediums
2x JumpJets

Similar to huskinater's build earlier in this thread. This version has the UACs are on the right and the lasers are on the left. Simple right-click/left-click setup. Plenty of ammo, an extra laser, and acceptable cooling.

... what the heck mate? 24 front armour on the side torsos and 48 on the CT? Almost no ammo? Hot as sin? Are you ... still earning your Cadet Bonus? =P

streak kitty with 1 jj and two ll for long range poking

Modeled after the Pryde variant the famous Star Colonel chose to pilot. The reason it's not using LRM 20s is due to hardpoint awkwardness.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7eb97bfc9ea37c6

R. Arm: C-ER Large Laser, C-ER Medium Laser, C-Double Heat Sink
R. Torso: C-LRm 15, 2 tons of C-LRM Ammo, 2 C-Jump Jets
C. Torso: C-ER Small Laser
L. Torso: C-LRM 13, 2 tons of C-LRM Ammo, 2 C-Jump Jets
L. Arm: C-ER Large Laser, C-ER Medium Laser, C-Double Heat Sink

A very strait forward mech that uses the mech's symmetry to it's advantage, dividing long range and short range punch evenly. In the event of a side torso destruction, it can still dish out damage.

Currently the best TW. Gauss is heat efficient, LPL poke well, and a JJ.

Well ladies and gents, here is the build I propose. It is the build I use in CW a lot. A mech designed for all ranges and most rolls.

[smurfy]http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6bbb67e0dd26408[/smurfy]

Head: Prime Omnipod
Center Torso: 1/2 ton LRM ammo
Right Torso: TBR-D Omnipod, C-LRM 10 w/ 1 ton ammo, C-SSRM 4 w/ 1 ton ammo, DHS, TC MK 1
Left Torso: TBR-D Omnipod, C-LRM 10 w/ 1 ton ammo, C-SSRM 4 w/ 1 ton ammo, DHS, CAP
Right Arm: Prime Omnipod, 2 ERMLs, 3 DHS
Left Arm: Prime Omnipod, 2 ERMLs, 3 DHS
Right Leg: Prime Omnipod
Left Leg: Prime Omnipod

Armor is full save for 1 pt off of each leg. As I stated in the ENF-4R build post, I prefer an all around play style for any situation. Check it out and give me your input people!

Have tried many timby loadouts. All of my timbys are equipped for maximum slot/tonnage usage and good performance at all ranges but requires good heat management.
This is my personal favorite.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e3157402e4431a1

Heat efficient, versatile and powerful.
-Quad Medium lasers will be your main armament for all range combat.
-Single PPC for long range snipe-fest you will inevitably encounter. Also good for disabling ECM at range. (Use wisely in brawl) also helps give you good high alpha damage when someone peeks and you know you have time to cool off.
-2xSRM6+2xSRM2, no ghost heat penalty and the SRM 2s have good reload for the circle dance. ( I have tried other SRM combinations but this works best for me)
-3mgs for the internals but more importantly to dazzle the enemy.
-BAP so you can deal with ECM lights running around you (or the occasional AS7-DDC steiner recon), feel free to swap it out for more ammo
-4 Jumpjets give good maneuverability.
-Maximum armor except -5 each leg and -1 off head

All purpose all range Timby.
I call this one Jack, the Jack of all trades

http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=165&l=a84b648145faa1aef4ade52b82b6d1731455b3d6

Takes advantage of the TBR-S CT to retain jump capabilities but swapped out the side torsos to carry more weapons/heatsinks
Quad medium lasers as main weapons, single LRM15 for harass and indirect fire (2.5t ammo), twin SRM6 for brawl (1.5t ammo) and a single ERLL for long range direct fire.
