Kind of your fault here. Saying you're hiding is not the same as setting up a trap. When I have done this I always say "setting up trap " ,. If it's 12 to 1 I don't waste people's time I rush them.

Indeed.
imo It's faster to call out the non participators and let support sort it out later.

"Regardless of what the ToS say, shutting down with no intention of trying to win the match is just a **** move."

So is betraying your teammate before the match has ended.

Are you telepathic? How do you know he was shut down to protect some silly K/D ratio?

Can you see the future? How do you know he intended to stay shut down if you call him out before the match has ended?

I could never condone giving away a teammates position...unless he is a griefing TKer who is the last one standing. Every one else deserves to play and make the enemy work for the kill.

No, Sherlock. I'm suggesting that if you drop in something else for one match, then your precious darling will be available again.
Or just go to the bathroom, grab a cup of something to drink, take a smoke, rub one out, do whatever you damn well please. But don't go snitching on your team just because you're too stupid to find a way to spend five minutes.

A teammate who isn't playing to win is the true betrayal.

If they don't say anything about their plans, and they stay in that position for several minutes on end, then it's pretty safe to assume that the person in question is just being cowardly.

The exception here is Conquest mode, where it's understandable to hide if your team is leading by caps.

"imo It's faster to call out the non participators and let support sort it out later."

You are not a mod or dev. You are bypassing the rules to deliver your own justice which, lets be honest here, is not about non-participation, its about your impatience to drop into the next match. I might as well put you on a list and leg you every match for being a Team Traitor. Its no different.

The proper response is to report him after the match has *ended*

You are not the judge, jury and executioner here. Team Traitors should get the ban hammer. Maybe 3 days for the 1st offense, then a permaban the next time.

No point wasting time with all that. Just call out hiders on skirmish, report them, support sort it out.

If you do a temporary power down to wait for enemies to pass, and then you power back up and resume hunting them, that's fine. But just hiding in a corner without any intent to win is trollish.

I would never do the first one.

So many policies! "Name and shame" is another one. It means we aren't supposed to call out players by name on the forums for their behavior, so the best thing to do when posting screenshots is to black or blur out the names in question.

Thanks! I did that!

I think in your particular case it was a misjustice to be called out.

That's good, I respect people that try to fight on even if the situation is stacked against them at the end of the match.

Unfortunately, not every player holds this philosophy, and some actually do the first option...

If they're hiding for 5 minutes, sure, that's non-participation and against the rules. The proper response to that is to send an email to support@mwomercs.com with a report of the ToS-violation after the match has ended.

Calling out their position is in and of itself a ToS-violation, and as we all (should) know, two wrongs don't make a right.

Besides, according to the OP he wasn't planning on hiding but powered down for an ambush attack. He should have told his team mates, but that does not excuse their calling out his position.

By the rules they're in the wrong no matter what. I would say next time tell your team what you're doing. You got time you're just sitting there. Maybe get them in on the action. Get them to give up a fake location where your lrms can hit them.

ehh if they think he's just being a **** and prolonging a match i can see people giving it away quickly. depending on how long he was powered down waiting for an ambush

I have never complained about someone hiding unless he is a teamkiller or clearly did not participate in the fight If he has fought to the best of his/her ability and decides to power down the last minutes I do not care. I either get a soda and stay and see what happens or I launch another mech.

Those who complain and whine are people who expect others to play the game their way and when it did not go as they wanted they want insta-reset.

"Kind of your fault here. Saying you're hiding is not the same as setting up a trap"

Funny how the burden to communicate is always placed on the last man standing, who obviously has more important things to worry about than getting knifed in the back by a team mate.

I see this happen about once a week. A not a SINGLE time have any of the dead people bothered to type "hey dude what are you doing here? Setting ambush or hiding out?". Nope. Instead they pretend its on him to reassure them into not stabbing him in the back.

If you do not want to be seen by enemy radar, power down.

This is a game tip from PGI folks. Or have all of you have forgotten seeing this game tip?
